Vines – antihistamine for system application, for symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, including year-round allergic rhinitis, and chronic idiopathic urticaria at adults and children aged from 6 years.

Structure

• active ingredient: levocetirizine;
• 1 tablet contains dihydrochloride of a levotsetirizin 5 mg;
• other components: microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide colloidal waterless, lactoses monohydrate, magnesium stearate, OpadryWhite YS-1-7003 (gipromeloza (E 464), titan dioxide (E 171), polysorbate, macrogoal 400).

Contraindication

• hypersensitivity to active ingredient, a tsetirizin, Hydroxyzinum or to other derivatives of piperazin and also to any excipient of medicine;
• severe form of HPN (clearance of creatinine <10 ml/min.).

Side reactions

from the immune system: hypersensitivity, including anaphylaxis.

Disturbance of food and metabolism: the increased appetite.

from mentality: aggression, excitement, a hallucination, a depression, insomnia, the suicide thoughts terrifying dreams.

from nervous system: spasms, paresthesias, dizziness, faint, tremor, dysgeusia.

from organs of hearing and balance vertigo.

from organs of sight: disorder of vision, illegibility of sight.

from heart: the strengthened heartbeat, tachycardia.

from the respiratory system, bodies of a thorax and mediastinum: short wind.

from digestive tract: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.

from a liver and biliary tract hepatitis.

from kidneys and an urinary system: dysuria, ischuria.

from skin and hypodermic fabrics: Quincke's disease, persistent medicamentous rashes, itch, rash, small tortoiseshell.

from a skeletal and muscular system, connective tissue and bones: myalgia, arthralgia.

General violations and a state in the injection site: hypostasis.

Results of researches: increase in body weight, a deviation of functional hepatic trials from norm.

Route of administration

Drug is appointed to adults and children of 6 years inside in a daily dose of 5 mg of 1 times a day.

Take a pill with food or on an empty stomach, without chewing, washing down with a small amount of water.

application Duration: patients with periodic allergic rhinitis (duration of symptoms of a disease is less than 4 days a week or less than 4 weeks) should be treated according to a disease and the anamnesis; treatment can be stopped if symptoms disappear and to renew again at repeated emergence of symptoms. In persistent allergic rhinitis (duration of symptoms of a disease is more than 4 days a week or more than 4 weeks) during contact with allergens the continuous therapy can be offered the patient. In chronic diseases (chronic allergic rhinitis, a chronic small tortoiseshell) duration of treatment is till 1 year (data are available on clinical trials at application of a racemate).

Feature of application

It is shown that tsetirizin the racemate of a levotsetirizin is removed in a human body. Therefore, probable penetration of a levotsetirizin into breast milk. The side reactions connected with levotsetiriziny can be noted at babies. Therefore in need of use of medicine the feeding by a breast should be stopped.

Children

not to use Drug in the form of tablets to children up to 6 years as this dosage form does not allow to carry out necessary correction of the mode of dosing. For this category of patients the application of a levotsetirizin in the dosage form suitable for application in pediatrics is recommended.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms

Comparative clinical trials did not reveal proofs that levotsetirizin at the recommended dose worsens mental vigilance, reactionary ability or ability to steer vehicles.

However some patients can feel drowsiness, fatigue and an asthenia during treatment levotsetiriziny. Therefore patients who intend to steer vehicles, to be engaged in potentially dangerous activity or to work with mechanisms have to consider the reaction to medicine.

Overdose

overdose Symptoms: can include drowsiness at adults; children can have at first an excitement and concern, then drowsiness.

Treatment. At emergence of symptoms of overdose the symptomatic and maintenance therapy is recommended. It is necessary to consider need of gastric lavage later short time after use of medicine. There is no specific antidote. The hemodialysis for removal of a levotsetirizin from an organism is not effective.
