Pesnya was No. 1 in a chart of Billboard Top Pop Singles within two weeks in 1969, from October 18 to October 25, having replaced "Sugar, Sugar" The Archies and replaced "Suspicious Minds" of Elvis Presley. Singl was also hit number one in Billboard Top R&B Singles within five weeks, from October 4 to November 1, having replaced "Oh, What a Night" The Dells and replaced by other song of Motown, "Baby Im For Real" of The Originals group.
Singl became the second of four hits The Temptations which won first place in pop charts of the USA and also one of the most sold singles, released group. Billboard estimated it as song No. 3 in 1969.
