In The Outer Worlds you waken after hibernation by the ship of settlers which was gone on the way to Altsion — the most distant terrestrial colony on the edge of the galaxy. You appear in the center of a large-scale plot which threatens existence of all colony. The character created by you will be able to affect the course of this story, investigating depths of space and meeting numerous groupings which battle for the power. In a system of equations of corporate colony there is a new unpredictable variable - it is you.

• Role-playing game where the player defines development of a plot: the Obsidian studio is right to the traditions therefore events in The Outer Worlds depend on you. Your solutions influence not only a plot, but also development of the character, the fate of satellites and the final of a game.
• Good news — you are not faultless: in The Outer Worlds the unique system of shortcomings works. They build up character of any bright hero. A game analyzes your actions and defines, what are you doing worst of all. You are constantly attacked by raptidona? Select a shortcoming "raptifobiya", and you will become weaker before these terrible creatures, but receive for it additional ability. Thanks to such choice you will be able to create the unique character during the travel on Altsiona.
• Manage satellites: investigating far colony, you will meet many characters ready to enter your command. They have unique abilities, tasks, motives and ideals. You can help each satellite with achievement of the treasured purpose or use it for the sake of the benefit.
• Investigate corporate colony: Altsion — colony on the edge of the galaxy which is owned and managed by the corporate board of directors. Within his power all … except alien monsters which appeared after unsuccessful attempt to carry out a terraformirovaniye of two planets of colony. Get the ship, gather a team and go to explore settlements, the space stations and other corners of Altsion full of riddles.
