Self-adhesive thermal label is a specific multilayer label made of special thermal paper, consisting of two layers. The first layer is thermochemical, on which information is applied; when heated, it darkens and thus information appears on the thermal label. The second layer of a thermal label is usually plain paper, under which there is glue for gluing to surfaces. This is a special base that serves for easy peeling off of the thermal label and its further gluing.

Information printed on such paper may fade when exposed to UV light, and the label may become soggy when exposed to moisture. Such labels are used when the labeled products do not require long-term storage or transportation. Most often used for marking fast-selling goods under standard storage conditions. Temperature range of use is from +5°C to +40°C, minimum gluing temperature is +5°C.
