Description

Vitamin C 500 – is shown for treatment hypo - and S.'s avitaminosis

Ensuring the increased need of an organism for vitamin C:

  • in the period of acute respiratory and infectious diseases;
  • in the period of a convalescence after a serious illness, surgeries;
  • in different intoxications, hemorrhagic diathesis, diseases of connective tissue (pseudorheumatism), bleedings (nasal, pulmonary, uterine);
  • in radiation sickness, hepatitis, cholecystitis, Addison's disease, in wounds of the soft beginning to live tissues, contaminated wounds and bone fractures.

Structure

  • active ingredient: ascorbic acid;
  • 1 tablet contains ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 200 mg, an ascorbate of sodium of 337 mg (that corresponds to 300 mg of ascorbic acid);
  • other components: tablets with an orange flavor - sorbite (E 420), aspartame (E 951), potassium to atsesulfa, cellulose microcrystalline, calcium stearate, fragrance orange, silicon dioxide colloidal anhydrous, dye the yellow West of FCF (E 110).

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to ascorbic acid and other components of medicine.

Predisposition to fibrinferments; thrombophlebitis; diabetes; urolithiasis.

Children's age up to 14 years.

Route of administration

In acute respiratory and infectious diseases for adults about 1–2 tablets (500–1000 mg) in day (in 2 receptions) within 7–10 days are recommended to accept

Further – on ½ tablets (250 mg) a day. It is necessary to apply tablets with the corresponding content of active ingredient to receiving the necessary dosage.

Term of treatment is defined by the doctor depending on a condition of the patient and also the disease course.

Feature of use

As vitamin C has easy promoting effect, it is not recommended to accept this medicine at the end of the day.

Due to the stimulating influence of ascorbic acid on formation of corticosteroid hormones, at its use in high doses needs control of function of kidneys and arterial blood pressure.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast

Prolonged use of vitamin C in the raised doses during pregnancy can negatively influence fetation therefore it is necessary to observe the recommended dosage.

When feeding by a breast should refrain from intake of medicine as ascorbic acid gets into breast milk.

Children

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms

Interaction with other medicines

At simultaneous use ascorbic acid strengthens absorption of iron, penicillin, ethinylestradiol from digestive tract. The similar effect concerns also aluminum therefore it needs to be considered at simultaneous treatment by the antacids containing aluminum.

Ascorbic acid at simultaneous use reduces efficiency of heparin, anticoagulants.

Absorption of ascorbic acid decreases at simultaneous use of oral contraceptive means, the use of fruit or vegetable juice, alkaline drink. The concomitant use of vitamin C and Deferoxaminum increases fabric toxicity of iron,

Vitamin C strengthens discharge of oxalates with urine, increasing risk of forming in urine of oxalic stones. Vitamin C increases risk of a crystalluria at treatment by salicylate.

. Ascorbic acid is water-soluble vitamin, its excess quantity is removed with urine. However at prolonged use of vitamin C in high doses the suppression of function of the insulyarny device of a pancreas demanding control of a condition of the last is possible.

  • from a cardiovascular system: arterial hypertension, myocardium dystrophy.
