Albenz - anthelminthic means. The means applied in nematodoses. Indications - intestinal forms of helminthoses: an enterobiosis, a dochmiasis, a necatoriasis, a hymenolepiasis, a teniosis, a strongyloidosis, an ascaridosis, a trichuriasis, a clonorchosis, an opisthorchosis, a giardiasis at children.

Structure

• 1 tablet contains albendazole 400 mg;
• excipients: lactose, a mannitol, starch corn, sodium saccharin, povidone, magnesium stearate, talc, Natrium benzoicum (E 211), starch sodium (type A), Essence Trusil fragrance DM Vanilla 8187, Essence Trusil fragrance ASV Pineapple, the water purified.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to albendazole, other derivatives of benzimidazole, to other components of drug. Eye retina diseases. Period of pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Pregnancy planning. Women of reproductive age should apply effective non-hormonal contraceptive remedies in time and within 1 month after treatment. Phenylketonuria.

Route of administration

Enterobiosis, a dochmiasis, a necatoriasis, an ascaridosis, a trichuriasis - adults and children aged from 3 years of 400 mg of 1 times / days (1 tablet) once.

Strongyloidosis, a teniosis, a hymenolepiasis - adults and children aged from 3 years of 400 mg of 1 times/days (1 tablet) within 3 days.

Clonorchosis, an opisthorchosis - adults and children aged from 3 years of 400 mg 1 tablet 2 times a day within 3 days.

Giardiasis - only children aged from 3 up to 12 years of 400 mg 1 tablet of 1 times a day within 5 days.

Feature of use

Treatment by albendazole can find presence of already existing neurocysticercosis, especially in territories with the high level of infection with Tenia solium strains. Patients can have neurologic symptoms, for example spasms, increase in intracranial pressure and focal symptoms owing to the inflammatory reaction caused by death of parasites in a brain. Symptoms can quickly arise after treatment therefore it is necessary to begin immediately the corresponding therapy of GKS and anticonvulsant drugs.

Medicine can be applied when carrying out deworming before vaccination and also to preventive treatment and two times a year.

Drivers

Considering existence of such side reaction as dizziness, it is recommended to abstain for use of albendazole from control of motor transport and work with mechanisms.

Overdose

Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tachycardia, drowsiness, disorder of vision, visual hallucinations, disturbance of the speech, dizziness, loss of consciousness, increase in a liver, increase in level of transaminases, jaundice; respiratory distress, brown-red or orange coloring of skin, urine, sweat, saliva, tears and excrements in proportion medicament doses.

Side effects

from a digestive tract: stomatitis, dryness in a mouth, heartburn, nausea, vomiting, an abdominal pain, a meteorism, diarrhea, a constipation, pain in the field of epigastrium.

Gepatobiliarny system: tranzitorny increase in activity of liver enzymes, jaundice, hepatitis, hepatocellular disturbances.

from a cardiovascular system: increase in arterial blood pressure, tachycardia.

from nervous system and peripheral nervous system: insomnia or drowsiness, headache, dizziness, confusion of consciousness, disorientation, hallucinations, spasms, decrease in visual acuity.

from the system of blood and lymphatic system: a leukopenia, a neutropenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, including aplastic anemia; agranulocytosis, pancytopenia. Patients with a liver disease, including hepatic echinococcosis, are more inclined to suppression of marrow.

from skin and hypodermic cellulose: skin rash, hyperaemia, polymorphic erythema, Stephens-Johnson's syndrome, alopecia (thinning of hair and moderate loss of hair), itching, urticaria, bladderwort, dermatitis, hypostasis.
