Streptocide – chemotherapeutic means for topical administration. Indications – the infected superficial wounds of various etiology and burns (I and II article), pyodermas, erysipelatous inflammation and superficial infectious inflammations of the skin.

Structure

• active ingredient: streptocide;
• 1 bottle polymeric contains 15 g of streptocide.

Contraindication

Increased individual sensitivity to streptocide or any other sulfanamide means; renal failure; sharp porphyria; disease of a system of blood; acute hepatitis; congenital deficit glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenazy; period of pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Side reactions

allergic reactions, including dermatitis, urticaria which development demands immediate medicament withdrawal.

Route of administration

Adult the powder Streptocide is applied usually 1 time in 1–2 days.

Should scatter powder on the surface which is subject to treatment, the amount of medicament depends on the sizes of an affected area. If necessary after putting medicament it is possible to apply a gauze bandage to an affected area of skin. The maximum single dose for adults – 5 g, the maximum daily dose for adults – 15 g. The frequency rate and duration of use depend on disease severity, the reached therapeutic effect and is defined by the doctor individually.

Feature of use

At emergence of allergic reaction in the site of application of powder should stop medicament use. The premature termination of medicament treatment can cause development of microorganisms, resistant to streptocides.

At medicament use to patients with extensive damage of skin should consider a possibility of absorption of active component. Before use of medicament it is necessary to consult with the attending physician.

Overdose

At overdose can amplify side effect of drug.

Treatment: medicament withdrawal, symptomatic therapy. At accidental intake – gastric lavage.

Interaction with other medicines and other types of interactions

Drugs containing PABK ethers (novocaine, anaesthesin, Dicainum) inactivate antibacterial activity of streptocides.

does not recommend simultaneous use with other medicaments which lead to oppression of marrow.

At use of Streptocide it is undesirable to p to accept such medicines as digitoxin, Acidum hydrochloricum, caffeine, a phenylephine hydrochloride, phenobarbital, Adrenalinum hydrochloricum.
