"Sodium chloride solution of isotonic 0.9% B. Brown" is recommended to apply solution to infusions at the following indications:

• deficiency of sodium;
• loss of ions of chlorine;
• for completion of volume of liquid and electrolytes in a gipokhloremichesky alkalosis;
• for short-term replenishment of intravascular volume of liquid;
• hypotonic dehydration or isotonic dehydration;
• as solvent for joint concentrates of electrolytes and medicines;
• for washing of wounds, moistening of tamponades and bandages (to apply outwardly).

Structure

Active ingredient - sodium chloride. 1000 ml of solution contain sodium of chloride 9.0 g. Electrolytes: sodium - 154 mmol/l; chlorides - 154 mmol/l.

Contraindication

Route of administration

Adult. The dose is defined depending on the real need for replenishment of water level and electrolytes.

Maximum daily dose: to 40 ml/kg of body weight a day that corresponds 6 mmol of sodium on 1 kg of body weight.

Additional losses of liquid (for example, in connection with fever, diarrhea, vomiting and so on) should be compensated to

Symptoms

Overdose of medicine "Sodium chloride solution of isotonic 0.9% B. Brown" can lead

to a hypernatremia, a hyperchloremia, an overhydratation, a sharp volume overload, hypostasis, hyper osmolarity of serum and giperkhloremichesky acidosis. Fast increase in level of sodium in blood serum at patients with a chronic hyponatremia can lead to emergence of a syndrome of osmotic demyelination. Thirst, confusion of consciousness, perspiration, a headache, weakness, drowsiness and tachycardia can belong to the first signs of overdose. In case of a heavy hypernatremia there can be hypertensia or hypotension, respiratory insufficiency or a coma.

Treatment

Depending on severity of disorders: the immediate termination of infusion, administration of diuretics with monitoring of levels of electrolytes in blood serum, correction of levels of electrolytes and disturbances of acid-base balance.
