Renalgan – the combined medicine of the Ukrainian producer Lekkhim-Kharkiv. Pharmacotherapeutic effects are caused by active ingredients:

• metamizole sodium anesthetic, some spasmolytic (concerning smooth muscles of urinary i zhelchny tract), febrifugal and anti-inflammatory action. For the first time as medicine appeared in 1921;
• a pitofenon the hydrochloride shows the expressed spasmolytic activity of rather smooth muscles of internals – reduces concentration of calcium ions and leads to relaxation of unstriated muscles;
• fenpiveriniya bromide suppresses a tone and motility of unstriated muscles, promoting their additional relaxation.

Thanks to potentiation of action of components, Renalgan is shown for short-term symptomatic treatment of a pain syndrome at spasms of smooth muscles of internals.

Renalgan is issued in two dosage forms – tablets for intake and solution for injections in ampoules on 2 ml or 5 ml. The choice of a dosage form depends on disease severity and the nature of pain. For knocking over of a sharp pain syndrome one injection suffices, for achievement of desirable therapeutic effect the treatment can be continued by an oral form of medicine.

Should pay attention that solution for injections is entered only intramusculary. At the accompanying use of other medicines it is necessary to be convinced of lack of interaction of the Renalgana components with their active ingredients.

Renalgan is contraindicated to pregnant women and the nursing women and also to children 15 years are younger.

Renalgan® combines analgeziruyushchy, spasmolytic (papaverinopodobny), cholinolytic (atropinopodobny) and some anti-inflammatory activity. Metamizol has the expressed analgeziruyushchy and febrifugal effect in combination with less expressed anti-inflammatory and spasmolytic activity. Its effects are result of oppression of synthesis of prostaglandins and endogenous algogen, increases in an excitation threshold in a thalamus and carrying out painful ekstero- and interoceptive impulses in the central nervous system and also it influences a hypothalamus and formation of endogenous pyrogens.

Fenpiveriny has moderate ganglioblokiruyushchy and parasympathetic effect, reduces a tone and motility of smooth muscles of a stomach, intestines, biliary and urinary tract.

Pitofenon has papaverinopodobny effect on vascular and extravasated smooth muscles with the expressed spasmolytic character.

Symptomatic treatment is weak

Indication

• renal colic and inflammatory diseases of the urinary tract proceeding with pain and dysuric disorders;
• spasms of a stomach and intestines, hepatic colic, dyskinesia of biliary tract;
• spastic dysmenorrhea.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to metamizol, to pyrazyl ketone derivatives, to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicaments (NPVS), and/or any component of medicine. Gastrointestinal impassability and megacolon; atony bilious or bladder; heavy renal failures and liver; change of composition of peripheral blood (Agranulocytosis, leukopenia); blood diseases (anemia of any etiology, cytostatic or infectious neutropenia); deficiency glyukozo-6-fosfatdegidrogenaza; liver porphyria; closed-angle glaucoma; suspicion of sharp surgical pathology; bronchial asthma; kollaptoidny states; tachyarrhythmia; a prostatauxe with a tendency to an ischuria.

Route of administration and doses

to take the Pill Renalgana® inside after a meal, washing down with water. The recommended daily doses for adults and children since 15 years – on 1-2 tablets a day, the maximum daily dose – 2 tablets.

Duration of application of Renalgana® – not longer 3 days.

Drug not to appoint

to children up to 15 years.

Overdose

Symptoms. At overdose, intoxication symptoms metamizol in a combination with cholinolytic effects, an abnormal liver function, kidneys, paralysis of airways prevail. The toksiko-allergic syndrome, symptoms of defeat of functions of blood formation, gastrointestinal frustration, in hard cases – symptoms of damage of a brain is most often observed.

Treatment. At suspicion on overdose it is necessary to stop immediately use of medicine and to take measures to its fast removal from an organism (to cause vomiting, to make gastric lavage, to increase urine discharge). To apply symptomatic means. Specific antidote does not exist.

• metamizole sodium - 0.5 g (500 mg)
• a fenpiveriniya bromide - 0.005 g (5 mg)
• a pitofenon a hydrochloride - 0.0001 g (0.1 mg)

Excipients: potato starch, calcium stearate.
