Pharmacodynamics. Pyrantelum pamoat is antikholinesterazny means.

Depolarizing effect of Pyrantelum breaks synoptic transfer in a body of helminths (in the beginning strengthens it, then oppresses), leads to development of neuromuscular blockade and thereof — to spastic paralysis of muscles of helminths, promoting their removal with a stake. Affects both puberal, and immature individuals of the helminths sensitive to drug, does not work on larvae in a migration stage.

Pharmacokinetics. Practically it is not soaked up in a digestive tract (3.5%). After single dose of medicament in a dose of 10 mg/kg of body weight the concentration of Pyrantelum in blood plasma is insignificant — 0.05-0.13 mg/ml during 1–3 h. After absorption in the system of blood it is partially metabolized in a liver. The main metabolite — N-methyl-1-3-propandiamin which about 1.2-4.6% are removed with urine. More than 93% of Pyrantelum are removed in not changed view with a stake.

Treatment of helminthoses: ascaridosis, enterobiosis, dochmiasis, necatoriasis, trikhostrongillez.

For prevention of autoinvasion recommended repeated intake of Pyrantelum in 3 weeks in a dose of 10 mg/kg of body weight.

At the isolated ascaridosis — 5 mg/kg/days are one-stage.

In a dochmiasis, a necatoriasis, a necatoriasis combination with an ascaridosis or at other combined gelmintny invasions medicament is used in a dose 10 mg/kg/days within 3 days or 20 mg/kg/days within 2 days.
