= Procol Harum is a commune, a workshop, five musicians and one poet who endured pop explosion of England are six young British aged from twenty one up to twenty four years. Gary Bruker - a vocal / piano, Robin Trouer - a guitar, Mathew Fischer - body, David Nayts - a bass guitar, Barry Wilson - percussions, Keith Reed is the author of texts.
Beginning - September, 1966 when Keith Reed was presented to Gary Bruker by the mutual friend who told: "Eto Keith, he writes words" and "To Eto Gary, he does not write a word". Gary took away "a package of words" for few weeks and thought up music for A Whiter Shade of Pale and, having responded to advertizing, "the organist wants to work" and "looks for the guitarist" six young people, all inexperienced, all unknown, all strangers gathered. Listenings in pubs and rehearsals in churches left young group which induced the London newspapers to call itself "new Beatles".
Name Puncture Harum, was taken from the Burmese blue cat who belonged to Keith Reeds friend. From Latin, Procol Harum does not give in to the translation. However, according to Gary Bruker, the cat "has magic properties, this is a strange cat - nobody ever could photograph it".
