AQUAYER Planaria Stop is a planaria control agent in the aquarium. If there are a lot of planaria in the aquarium, then they can harm even adult shrimp. After molting, when the shrimp is defenseless, planaria crawl into the respiratory organs and the shrimp dies of suffocation. Planaria is a flatworm with a triangular head, on which you can see two black eyes. Planaria are introduced into the aquarium most often with aquatic plants or food. Planarians feed on food debris and carrion. Unlike fish, shrimps grind food rather slowly, and part of the food may remain in the ground, becoming available to planaria. Therefore, in shrimp farms, the risk of a sharp increase in the planarian population is quite high.

It is recommended to avoid intensive preparation of the aquarium. If the planaria died within 24 hours after treatment, then an overdose was allowed and a sharp release of decomposition products of dead planaria harmful to shrimp is possible. Our research has shown that the ideal planarian treatment is to slowly decrease the planarian population over one to two weeks. The main advantage of AQUAYER Planaria Stop is that the dose of the active ingredient in tablets is fixed. While in similar preparations in the form of a suspension, lumps may form, the entry of which into the aquarium can lead to an overdose of the active ingredient. Dosing of preparations in powder form is permissible only by accurate weighing.

1 tablet for 20 liters of water in the aquarium. For more precise dosing and use in aquariums less than 20 liters, half or quarter of a tablet can be used. AQUAYER Planaria Stop dissolves slowly in aquarium water and works for 3-5 days as it dissolves.

A suspension must be prepared before adding to the aquarium. For this:

1) put the required number of tablets in a tablespoon, moisten the tablets with a little water and crush the tablets with another spoon until a white gruel is formed.

2) Place the prepared gruel in a glass of water (100-300 ml) and stir vigorously until a suspension forms.

3) Spread the prepared suspension evenly throughout the aquarium.

4) After 3 days, change 25% of the aquarium water and add AQUAYER Planaria Stop at 1/4 dosage. It is advisable to repeat the treatment of the aquarium after a week to destroy young planaria hatching from eggs.

The rate of dissolution and action of the active ingredient depends on the hardness of the water. In soft water AQUAYER Planaria Stop acts more effectively against planaria. In water with a total hardness above 10 ºdH, the dosage should be doubled. If shrimps, such as the Caridina family, live in the aquarium, and there are a lot of planarians in the aquarium, it is recommended to process the aquarium in several stages, dividing the dosage over two to three days. The softer the water and the larger the planarians, the more careful the aquarium with Caridina shrimp should be treated.
