Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. pekovite forte tablets, coated, contain a combination of vitamins. vitamins are substances which take part in regulation of many biochemical processes in an organism. effects of use of vitamins B an organism are generally physiological, but not pharmakodinamichesky.

group B Vitamins (In ₁ , In ₂ , In ₆ , In ₁₂ , pantothenic acid, niacinamide, folic acid) take part in processes of exchange of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and also play an important role in functioning of nervous system. Folic acid is necessary for normal formation, regeneration and functioning of blood cells. Vitamin A is necessary for development of cells of an epithelium and synthesis of a rhodopsin. Vitamin D regulates digestion of calcium and promotes an appropriate mineralization of bones and teeth. Vitamin C controls absorption of iron and takes part in many oxidation-reduction processes in an organism. Vitamin E is a physiological antioxidant which protects cell membranes from damage and keeps cellular functions.

Film coated tablets of Pikovit Forte contain nekariogenny sweeteners — maltit, attracts also aspartame. Maltit and attracts are metabolized in very small quantity and very slowly by bacteria of flora of an oral cavity.

in quantities according to daily requirement. Excess quantities are removed with urine, in certain cases — with a stake. These vitamins are stored in an organism in limited quantity therefore they need to be accepted regularly for the purpose of support of the corresponding concentration in fabrics.

in the presence of fats in a small intestine. Vitamin E absorption rather low (25–85% of a dose). At use in large numbers these vitamins are stored in a liver and therefore they are more toxic, than water-soluble vitamins.

Pharmacokinetics. It was not studied.

Indication

Drug is appointed to children:

• at physical and mental overworks at school students;
• at lag in development;
• at seasonal deficit of fruit and vegetables in a diet;
• at reduced appetite;
• as supportive application at treatment by antibiotics.

Pikovit Forte is not substitute of the balanced and various food.

Use

to Children aged from 7 years for the purpose of treatment of hypovitaminosis is applied on 1 tablet of 1 times a day after meal, for the purpose of prevention — on 1 tablet every other day.

Pikovit Forte tablets, coated, it is necessary to rassasyvat in a mouth.

At reduced appetite of a tablet is recommended to be applied for 2 months, at other indications and if necessary — depending on duration and the frequency of symptoms after consultation with the doctor.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to active agents or any of medicament components; hypervitaminosis of an and d; phenylketonuria; nephrolithiasis; gout; hyperuricemia; erythremia; hyperglobulia; thrombophlebitis; thrombembolia; disturbance of metabolism of iron and copper; hypercalcemia; hypercalcuria; thyrotoxicosis; chronic glomerulonephritis; chronic heart failure; a sarcoidosis in the anamnesis; ulcer of stomach and duodenum (in connection with a possibility of increase in acidity of gastric juice); tuberculosis.

Side effects

from the immune system: reactions of hypersensitivity to medicament components, including an acute anaphylaxis, a bronchospasm, a Quincke's edema are possible.

from metabolism and digestion: hypercalcemia.

from central nervous system: headache, dizziness, drowsiness.

from an organ of sight: disorder of vision.

from a GIT: dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, eructation, stomach ache, constipation, diarrhea, increase in secretion of gastric juice.

from skin and hypodermic cellulose: rash, urticaria, itching, erythema.

from kidneys and urinary tract: urine discoloration, hypercalcuria.

General disturbances and disturbances of conditions of reception: hyperthermia, irritability, hyperhidrosis.

during long reception of high doses the following side reactions can arise:

from metabolism and digestion: a hyperuricemia, disturbance of tolerance to glucose, a hyperglycemia.

from central nervous system: paresthesias.

from heart: arrhythmia.

from a GIT: gastrointestinal disturbances.

from skin and hypodermic cellulose: hair loss, seborrhea.

from kidneys and urinary tract: renal failure.

Laboratory indicators: temporary increase in the AsAT, SF, LDG level.

Special instructions

If reaction of hypersensitivity on skin (rash, an itching) takes place, administration of medicament pekovite forte should be cancelled.

With care is appointed to patients with liver diseases, acute nephrite, a warm decompensation, cholelithiasis, chronic pancreatitis, allergic diseases, an idiosyncrasy, new growths.

Cannot plan pregnancy earlier, than in 6–12 months after therapy by Retinolum in high doses (more than 10,000 ME) because at this time there is a risk of emergence of embryonic disturbances under the influence of the high content of vitamin A in an organism. There can be a coloring of urine in yellow color in connection with vitamin A content. This effect is safe.

Before the accompanying intake of other vitamin and mineral and vitamin medicaments surely should consult with the doctor.

Patients with diabetes can apply Pikovit Forte, but they have to consider that each tablet, coated, contains 0.84 g of the maltit. Insulin is necessary for metabolism of the maltit, but this need for insulin is insignificant in connection with slow hydrolysis and absorption of medicament in a GIT. Besides, energy value of the maltit (10 kJ/g or 2.4 kcal/g) is considerably smaller in comparison with energy value of sucrose.

Special information on some of excipients. Pekovite Forte contains maltit (E965) and liquid maltit. Patients with the most rare hereditary forms of intolerance of fructose should not take this drug.

Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine which, in turn, can cause damage to patients with phenylketonuria.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Do not accept.

Children. Drug is used at children of 7 years (see USE).

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Drug is used at children.

Interaction

Due to a possibility of development of a hypervitaminosis but does not recommend the accompanying use pekovite forte of tablets, coated, with other medicaments which contain vitamin A, or with oral retinoids. at treatment by streptocides it is necessary to avoid high doses of vitamin C to prevent a crystalluria. the pyridoxine reduces efficiency of a levodopa if the patient accepts only a levodopa. Riboflavinum interferes with absorption and reduces efficiency of antibiotics. therefore it should be taken at least for 3 h before reception of an antibiotic.

to interaction with calcium ions.

Overdose

Reception of very high doses throughout a long span can cause a hypervitaminosis of vitamins A and d, however overdose probability at use of tablets pekovite forte minimum.

and maltit badly are soaked up in a GIT. Therefore reception of doses which exceed recommended can serve as the cause of diarrhea and a meteorism.
