Pharmacological properties

Dekspantenol ((+)-r-3-(2.4-дигидрокси-3.3-диметилбутирамидо) propionic acid) is a predecessor of pantothenic acid, a component acetyl of coenzyme and, necessary for normal metabolism in all cages, especially in cells of skin and mucous membranes. pantothenic acid accelerates processes of scarring and epithelization of skin and mucous membranes.

At topical administration dekspantenol well gets into skin cells and a mucous membrane where turns into pantothenic acid. The pantothenic acid which came to a system blood-groove contacts β-globulin and albumine of blood plasma. Pantothenic acid collects in body tissues, is not metabolized and removed in not changed look (60–70% with urine, the rest — with a stake). It is allocated with breast milk.

Indication

degree i–ii Burns, the irritation of skin caused by ultra-violet radiation, an intertrigo of skin of the sciatic site in babies, nipple cracks during feeding by a breast, chronic trophic ulcers, decubituses, skin transplants for the dry and coarsened skin care.

Use

Ointment is applied on the damaged surface of skin by 2–3 times a day.

Contraindication

Allergy, hemophilia.

Side effects

Contact allergic eczema.

Special instructions

do not apply Ointment on the becoming wet wounds. the period of pregnancy and feeding by a breast are not contraindications to use of medicine. when putting ointment on nipple cracks before feeding of the child residues of ointment need to be removed by means of clean soft napkins, to wash a nipple and skin around it warm boiled water.

Interaction

Panthenol can strengthen action of the depolarizing muscle relaxants (chloride succinylcholine, a bromide dekametoniya) and to reduce action of not depolarizing muscle relaxants (tubocurarine chloride) in connection with ability to stimulate synthesis of acetylcholine.

Storage conditions

At a temperature of 15-25 °C.
