Orleans is the American pop rock group, the most famous for the hits "Dance with Me" (No. 6 in 1975); "Still the One" (No. 5) from an album Waking and Dreaming (1976); and "Lubov demands time" (No. 11 in 1979). The name of group came from music which it played in time of their education, on which such actors of Louisiana as Allen Toussaint and brothers Nevill inspired. Orleans was created in Woodstock, New York, in January, 1972 by the vocalist / guitarist / author of songs John Hall, the vocalist / guitarist / keyboard player / bass player / author of songs Larry Hoppen. and drummer / keyboard player / author of songs Kelly Wells. In October of the same year the group extended, and the younger brother Larry, Lens playing on a bass entered into it. The drummer Gerry Marotta joined group in 1976, having finished the quintet. (Later Hall was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.)
