Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. nazoferon — antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anti-proliferative drug. the biological effect of interferon is characterized by the following effects: antiviral — oppresses replication of viruses (adenoviruses, influenza viruses) due to inhibiting effect on processes of a transcription and broadcasting; anti-proliferative — oppresses reproduction of cages (the majority of DNA - and the rnk-containing viruses). interferon initiates synthesis of specific enzyme of the protein kinase interfering broadcasting thanks to phosphorylation of one of the initiating factors of this process; activates specific ribonuclease which damages matrix RNA of a virus. treat effects of interferon also: stimulation of production of other cytokines, induction of specific enzymes, oppression of proliferation of cages, immunomodulation (strengthening of phagocytal activity of macrophages and specific cytotoxicity of lymphocytes concerning target cells). interferon is an immunity mediator, has the expressed fabric specificity, protects an organism from causative agents of infectious diseases.

Pharmacokinetics. It was not investigated.

Indication

Prevention and treatment at a SARS at children aged from 1 month (for spray nasal — of 1 year) and adults:

• at patients with frequent and long diseases of the upper airways;
• at contact with sick SARS;
• when overcooling;
• at seasonal increase in incidence in organized collectives (children's and adult), in risk groups — health workers, teachers, especially in the period of epidemic.

Use

At the first symptoms of a disease of a SARS (for 5 days):

• to newborns and children at the age of 1 year — on 1 drop of 5 times a day (a single dose — 8000 ME, a daily dose — 40,000 ME);
• to children at the age of 1–3 years — on 2 drops (spray dose *) 3–4 times a day (a single dose: drops — 16,000 ME, spray — 20,000 ME, a daily dose: drops — 48 000–64 000 ME, spray — 60 000–80 000 ME);
• to children at the age of 3–14 years — on 2 drops (spray dose) of 4-5 times a day (a single dose: drops — 16,000 ME, spray — 20,000 ME, a daily dose: drops — 64 000–80 000 ME, spray — 80 000–100 000 ME);
• to children at the age of 14–18 years — on 2 drops (spray dose) of 5-6 times a day (a single dose: drops — 16,000 ME, spray — 20,000 ME, a daily dose: drops — 80 000–96 000 ME, spray — 100 000–120 000 ME);
• adult — on 3 drops (spray dose) of 5-6 times a day (a single dose: drops — 24,000 ME, spray — 30,000 ME, a daily dose: drops — 120 000–144 000 ME, spray — 150 000–180 000 ME).

* 1 spray dose = 1 short pressing the doser.

For prevention of respiratory viral infections. At contact with the patient and overcooling — according to an age dosage 2 times within 5–7 days. In case of need preventive courses are repeated. At single contact one burying (injection) suffices.

At seasonal increase in incidence — according to an age dosage once in the morning with an interval of 1-2 days.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to interferon alpha 2b and to other components of medicine, severe forms of allergic diseases in the anamnesis. period of pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Side effects

In isolated cases — rash on skin.

Special instructions

Nazoferon spray nasal. medicine contains methylparahydroxybenzoate which can cause the allergic reactions including delayed in exceptional cases — a bronchospasm.

should not use medicament in case of violation of integrity and marking of packing, at change of physical properties (color or transparency of liquid) and after the termination of an expiration date.

For prevention of spread of an infection.

Order of use of spray nasal:

1. To remove a protective cap from a bottle.

2. To activate the spray pressing (trial dispersion).

3. Being in vertical position to place the end of a nozzle serially in each nasal course and to press the pump doser.

4. After application to close a bottle a cap.

Children. To apply at children aged since 1.

Nazoferon of a drop nasal. To administer the medicament in each nasal course.

Before use of medicine needs to accept a dorsal decubitus or sitting, to reject slightly the head back and to turn towards that nasal course to which burying drops will be carried out, and, without touching with a bottle dropper internal walls of a nose, to dig medicine. Right after burying for hypodispersion of medicine on a mucous membrane of a nose it is recommended to massage outside fingers nose wings within several minutes.

Order of application of drops nasal in the bottle corked with a dropper:

1. To remove a protective cap from a bottle.

2. To turn a bottle a nozzle down and before the first application of drops to make several trial pressing the pump doser.

3. To place the end of a nozzle serially in each nasal course and to press the pump doser necessary number of times according to a dosage.

4. After application to close a bottle a cap.

Children. To apply at children aged from 1 month

Nazoferon spray nasal / drops nasal

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Use is contraindicated.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. Does not influence.

Interaction

does not recommend simultaneous use of intranasal vasoconstrictive medicines as it results in xeromycteria.
