Pharmacological properties

Nazivin belongs to group of local vasoconstrictors. oxymetazoline has sympathomimetic and vasoconstrictive effect, eliminating a rhinedema. narrows vessels in the site of application, reduces a rhinedema and the upper airways, reduces discharges from a nose. restores nasal breath. elimination of a rhinedema promotes restoration of aeration of adnexal bosoms, a tympanic cavity, prevents development of bacterial complications.

antiviral, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory and antioxidant action. Thanks to this combined action mechanism at conduct of clinical trials faster and effective elimination of symptoms of sharp rhinitis (congestion of a nose, a rhinorrhea, sneezing, deterioration in health) is proved.

At topical nasal administration in therapeutic concentration a mucous membrane of a nose, does not lead to hyperaemia. T _½ makes about 35 h after use of medicine. 2.1% of medicine are removed by kidneys, about 1.1% — with a stake.

Duration of effect of medicine — up to 12 h

Indication

Acute respiratory diseases which are followed by congestion of a nose; allergic rhinitis; vasomotorial rhinitis; for restoration of a drainage and nasal breath at diseases of adnexal bosoms of a nasal cavity, an eustachitis; for elimination of hypostasis before diagnostic manipulations in the nasal courses.

Use

Nazivin of 0.01%, 0.025%, 0.05%, drops, appoint for application in a nose.

Adults and children are aged more senior than 6 years. Apply drops Nazivin of 0.05% on 1–2 drops in each nasal course 2–3 times a day.

Children aged from 1 year up to 6 years. Apply Nazivin 0.025% on 1–2 drops in each nasal course 2–3 times a day.

Newborn. The newborn aged up to 4 weeks appoint on 1 drop of the medicine Nazivin 0.01% in each nasal course 2–3 times a day. From the 5th week of life to 1 year — 1–2 drops in each nasal course 2–3 times a day.

proved efficiency of such procedure: depending on age 1–2 drops of 0.01% of solution apply on vatu and wipe the nasal courses.

Nazivin spray. To adults and children 6 years are aged more senior — on 1 injection in each nasal course 2–3 times a day.

In the doses exceeding recommended is applied only under observation of the doctor. Nazivin drops and spray apply not longer than 5-7 days. Drug can be used repeatedly only in several days.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components. atrophic rhinitis. at use of inhibitors of Mao and during 2 weeks after the treatment termination by Mao's inhibitors and also other medicines promoting increase hell. with the increased intraocular pressure, especially at closed-angle glaucoma. at severe forms of cardiovascular diseases (for example ibs, ag). pheochromocytoma. metabolic violations (hyperthyroidism, diabetes, porphyria). prostatauxe.

Side effects

from a respiratory system: often (≥1%–10%) — discomfort in a nose, burning or xeromycteria, sneezing; seldom (≥0.01%-0.1%) — after the effect of use of medicine nazivin ends, can note feeling of strong congestion of a nose (reactive hyperemia); it is unknown on frequency / isolated cases — nasal bleeding. an apnoea at newborns and children of younger age (especially in case of overdose).

from nervous system: seldom (≥0.01%-0.1%) — a headache, drowsiness, fatigue, spasms, hallucinations (especially at children).

from a cardiovascular system: infrequently (≥0.1%-1%) — topical nasal administration can cause system effects, such as palpitation, tachycardia, AG.

from the immune system: emergence of allergic reactions, including rashes, the nagger, a Quincke's disease is possible.

Special instructions

Should avoid prolonged use and overdose. prolonged use of antiedematous for a nose can lead to weakening of effect of medicine. abuse of this means can cause a mucosal atrophy and a reactive hyperemia with medicamentous rhinitis.

After use of medicine needs special observation of patients with chronic rhinitis and in cases of elimination of hypostasis before diagnostic manipulations. In the doses exceeding recommended medicament needs to be used only under observation of the doctor.

Use during pregnancy or feeding by a breast. During pregnancy and feeding by a breast medicament is used with care. Exceeding the recommended doses is not allowed.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. After prolonged use of medicine in the doses exceeding recommended it is impossible to exclude the general influence on a cardiovascular system. In such cases the ability to steer the vehicle can decrease.

Children. It is not necessary to apply Nazivin 0.025% of a drop at children aged till 1 year; Nazivin of 0.05% of a drop — up to 6 years. Drug in the form of spray is not recommended to be used at children under 6 years.

Interaction

not to apply Mao's inhibitors and other medicines promoting increase hell because of risk of increase hell. the combined prescribing of other vasoconstrictive medicines increases risk of development of side effects.

Overdose

After considerable overdose or accidental intake the following symptoms can arise: a mydriasis, nausea, vomiting, cyanosis, fervescence, spasms, tachycardia, palpitation, arrhythmia, cardiovascular insufficiency, cardiac arrest, the increased sweating, excitement, spasms, hell, a fluid lungs, respiratory frustration, pallor, a miosis, hyposmias, mental disorders.

besides, oppression of the central nervous system functions can arise that is shown by drowsiness, decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, the ABP, an apnoea and possible development of a coma.

Therapeutic actions at overdose: gastric lavage, intake of activated carbon, ventilation of the lungs. At decrease in the ABP apply phentolamine. It is not necessary to accept angiotonic means. If necessary anticonvulsant therapy is shown.
