Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. naphazoline has the expressed vasoconstrictive effect on peripheral vessels thanks to influence on α-adrenoceptors. when drawing reduces hypostasis, hyperaemia, exudation by mucous membranes that promotes simplification of nasal breath at rhinitises. naphazoline promotes opening and expansion of the removing channels of adnexal bosoms of a nose and Eustachian tubes that improves outflow of a secret and interferes with sedimentation of bacteria.

Pharmacokinetics. At topical administration, naphazoline is completely soaked up.

Therapeutic action comes within 5 min. and lasts 4–6 h at intranasal application.

Indication

Acute rhinitis. as supportive application at inflammation of near-nasal bosoms and a middle ear.

For reduction of hypostasis of a mucous membrane during diagnostic intervention.

Naphthyzinum to dig in

in each nasal course, having thrown back the head a little back and having rejected it to the right at instillation in the left nostril and to the left — at instillation in the right nostril.

With the medical purpose. To adults and children 15 years are aged more senior: on 1–3 drops of 0.05-0.1% of solution in each nasal course.

to Children aged from 3 to 6 years to apply solution of 0.05% — on 1–2 drops, to children from 6 to 15 years — on 2 drops in each nasal course.

Naphthyzinum to apply

3 times a day, but not more often than in 4 h

Naphthyzinum cannot apply 5 days of adult and 3 days — to children.

Repeatedly Naphthyzinum can be applied only in several days.

in case of nasal bleeding to use tampons, the moistened 0.05% medicine solution.

With the diagnostic purpose. After clarification of a nasal cavity in each nasal course to dig in 0.05-0.1% of solution on 3–4 drops or to enter the tampon moistened in 0.05-0.1% solution for 1–2 min.

in case of hypostasis of phonatory bands to inject 1–2 ml of medicine the guttural syringe.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components; dry inflammation of a mucous membrane of a nose.

. in isolated cases there are by-effects:

from the immune system: allergic reactions, including Quincke's edema;

from the respiratory system, bodies of a thorax and mediastinum: burning and xeromycteria. There can be a feeling of strong congestion of a nose after effect of medicine ends.

observe system side effects which are provoked by irritation of sympathetic nerves and arise mainly after medicine overdose:

from nervous system: nervousness, headache, tremor;

from a cardiovascular system: tachycardia, heart consciousness, AG;

from skin and hypodermic cellulose: the increased sweating.

Use of 5 days by the adult and 3 days to children or very frequent application accustoming to medicament can cause

that is followed by a rhinedema after its reception.

Prolonged use can lead

to easing of tsiliarny activity and irreversible injury of a mucous membrane of a nose, to dry inflammation of a mucous membrane of a nose.

Special instructions

Should use very carefully medicament at a serious illness of a cardiovascular system (ag, ibs), at diabetes, a hyperthyroidism, a pheochromocytoma, oh. the care is necessary at simultaneous use of inhibitors of Mao and other medicines which can potentially raise hell; at use of the anesthetics (for example a halothane) increasing sensitivity of a myocardium to sympathomimetics and also at use of medicine during pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

to Avoid prolonged use by the adult and to children. Prolonged use of medicine can result in chronic congestion of a nose and a mucosal atrophy.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Use of medicine is possible only on doctor's orders which will define an advantage ratio for mother/risk for a fruit (child). There is no information concerning nitrate naphazoline penetration through a placenta or in breast milk.

Children. At children from 3 to 15 years it is possible to apply Naphthyzinum of 0.05%.

it is possible to apply Naphthyzinum of 0.1%.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with other mechanisms. At application in therapeutic doses does not affect ability to steer vehicles and mechanisms. When exceeding the recommended doses the dizziness and drowsiness are possible.

Interaction

Use of Naphthyzinum along with Mao's inhibitors, tricyclic antidepressants and Maprotilinum or for several days after their cancellation can cause increase hell.

Overdose

At overdose or accidental ingestion of medicine symptoms of systemic action can be shown: nervousness, the increased sweating, a headache, a tremor, heart consciousness, tachycardia, a gipertenziiya. there can be a pallor of skin, cyanosis, fever, nausea, spasms, heart attack, cardiac arrest, a fluid lungs, breath violation, mental violations. the oppressing action on central nervous system is shown by such symptoms: decrease in body temperature, bradycardia, the increased sweating, drowsiness, a state of shock, an apnoea, a coma.

At accidental overdose should stop use of medicine and to see immediately a doctor. Symptomatic treatment.

Risk of overdose increases at the children more sensitive to negative impact, than adults.
