Origin of Symmetry (in translation from English — origin of symmetry) — the second studio album of the British alternative rock group of the Muse group released in the summer by 2001 labels of Mushroom Records in UK. Plug In Baby, New Born, Bliss, Feeling Good and Hyper Music were released in the form of singles to this album, later two of them reissued together double CD. In 2006 the readers of musical magazine Q called this album 73 in their 100 Greatest Albums Ever. in the USA, the falsetto from songs for the American release asked Muse to remove
Maverick Records, earlier already released debut album of the Showbiz group. They considered that the falsetto can interfere with hit of an album on radio station. Muse refused a compromise with their artistic integrity. Poe to this reason of CD was not let out in the USA till September, 2005 [11]. In Great Britain the album became platinum. Zvoucs
new album considerably differed from the previous album "Showbiz", and represented a continuous experiment in each track. Dominique Howard expanded a set of percussions, and Mathew Bellamy used body in the track "Megalomania" because of what this song is seldom sung live — as in Royal Albert Hall and at Hullabaloo concert in Paris. In the majority of songs leading party — bass, and Matts party only provides additional shades.
"Feeling Good" is a cover of the song of Anthony Newli and Lesley Brikass written for Nina Simone. According to Bellamy, the song was included in an album because it is the favourite song by his mother. Later Adam Lambert executed the cover very similar to the version of Muse. The Feeling Good song sounds at the beginning of the 14th episode 3 seasons in the American version of series "Close friends". Also it sounds in the movie "7 lives" in which leading role Will Smith plays, and entered an original soundtrack of the game The Saboteur. In final credits 4 series of the 1st season of series Luther also sounds "Feeling Good". The New Born song can be heard in the movie "Bloody Harvest" in which leading role Cécil De Frans plays.
"Space Dementia" was used by Dior for the advertizing Midnight Poison.
"Plug In Baby" is included as one of tracks in Guitar Hero 5, with Mathew Bellamys avatar appearing in the career mode.
