Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. mikogel — anti-mycotic and antibacterial medicine.

Active ingredient of medicine — Miconazolum nitrate — inhibits biosynthesis of ergosterol and changes lipidic structure of a membrane, causing death of a cell of a mushroom. The significant antifungal action is shown concerning dermatophytes (Microsporum canis, Trichophyton rubrum, Epidermophyton floccosum), mushrooms of the sorts Candida, Cryptococcus and some other and also sort Aspergillus mushrooms. Shows antibacterial activity concerning gram-positive microorganisms (mainly stafilokokk) and to a lesser extent — gram-negative bacteria.

Pharmacokinetics. Practically it is not soaked up through the uninjured skin; concentration of Miconazolum in blood plasma at topical administration is minimum.

Indication

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to Miconazolum to nitrate and/or other components of medicine; the skin diseases caused herpes viruses.

Side effects

. the following side effects are possible:

from skin and its derivatives: reactions in the site of application, including reddening, irritation, burning, rash, an itch, xeroderma; contact dermatitis;

from the immune system: reactions of hypersensitivity, including urticaria, a Quincke's disease, anaphylactic reactions.

Special instructions

Should avoid hit of medicine in eyes and on open wounds.

With care is applied at microcirculation violations, diabetes.

At damage of nails should cut off them as it is possible well.

At defeat of feet needs to process carefully intervals between fingers, to wear the free well aired shoes and to daily change socks.

At development of allergic reaction should stop administration of drug.

Interaction

is not recommended to be applied mikogel along with other ointment forms. it is noted that at system application Miconazolum inhibits cyp 3a4/2c9. in connection with limited system availability at topical administration clinically significant interactions note seldom. respectively, information on possible increase in activity of antidiabetic medicines — derivative sulphonylurea and Phenytoinum at simultaneous application with Miconazolum has no clinically significant value.

However to the patients accepting oral anticoagulants, such as warfarin should show care and to carry out monitoring of the prothrombin ratio.

Overdose

Due to the lack of system absorption of cases of overdose it is noted p. symptoms of irritation of skin which usually disappear after the treatment termination can be manifestations of overdose.

Drug is intended to

only for drawing on skin, but not for oral administration. At accidental ingestion of large amounts of medicine it is necessary to use the corresponding method of gastric emptying.
