Мералис® - a combination of vasoconstrictive medicine xylomethazolinum and sterile sea water of the Adriatic Sea.

Active components

Xylomethazolinum. Possesses alpha adrenomimeticheskim action: causes narrowing of blood vessels of a mucous membrane of a nose, eliminating, thus, hypostasis and hyperaemia of a mucous membrane of a nasopharynx. Facilitates nasal breath at rhinitises. In therapeutic concentration does not irritate mucous, does not cause hyperaemia. Action comes in a few minutes after application and continues within 12 hours. Drug is well transferred, including patients with a sensitive mucous membrane.

Feature

Unlike other vasoconstrictors, the composition of the medicine Meralis®, besides xylomethazolinum, includes sea water.

At congestion of a nose, vasoconstrictive medicines promote reduction of hypostasis and normalization of nasal breath. However prolonged use traditional vasoconstrictive means or increase in frequency of their use, is fraught with complications: with emergence of dryness and irritation mucous, emergence of microcracks, delay of work of "cilia" of a ciliary epithelium which normal are in the constant movement, moving a layer of slime, a bacterium and viruses towards a nasopharynx.

For mitigation of similar effects to some cold medicine are added by the menthol or an eucalyptus possessing the distracting cooling action. However such means bring only subjective improvement, without providing full protection of a mucous membrane and without influencing development and movement of nasal slime in any way.

Indication

• Symptomatic treatment of congestion of a nose at cold, hay fever, allergic rhinitises, sinusitis.
• For simplification of outflow of a secret at diseases of adnexal bosoms of a nose.
• Auxiliary therapy at average otitis (for elimination of hypostasis of a mucous membrane).
• For simplification of carrying out a rinoskopiya.

Contraindication

• Hypersensitivity to xylomethazolinum or other components of medicine: xeromycteria with formation of crusts (dry rhinitis);
• Transfenoidalnaya hypophysectomy and surgical interventions with exposure of a meninx in the anamnesis.

Route of administration and doses

Before use of medicine should clean a nose carefully.
