• For symptomatic treatment of congestion of a nose at cold, hay fever, allergic rhinitises, sinusitis.
• For simplification of outflow of a secret at diseases of adnexal bosoms of a nose.
• As auxiliary therapy at average otitis (for elimination of hypostasis of a mucous membrane).
• For simplification of carrying out a rinoskopiya.

Structure

active ingredient: xylomethazolinum a hydrochloride

1 ml of solution contains 1 mg or 0.5 mg hydrochloride xylomethazolinum.

excipients: the sea water purified potassium dihydrophosphate, sodium hyaluronate, water purified.

Contraindication

• Hypersensitivity to active ingredient xylomethazolinum of a hydrochloride or to any of medicine excipients;
• dry inflammation of a nasal cover of a nose with crusting (dry rhinitis);
• simultaneous treatment by MAO inhibitors, treatment by MAO inhibitors within two weeks prior to use of the medicine Meralis® Advans or other medicines capable to increase arterial blood pressure;
• after hypophysectomy or surgical intervention on a firm meninx;
• to closed-angle glaucoma;
• sharp coronary diseases;
• hyperthyroidism;
• to coronary asthma;
• children's age up to 2 years for 0.05% of spray; and age up to 12 years for 0.1% of spray;
• pregnancy period.

Before use of medicine should clean a nose carefully.

Drivers

In cases of prolonged use of Meralis® Advans in high doses perhaps undesirable impact of medicine on a cardiovascular system that can negatively affect ability to steer vehicles and to work with mechanisms.

Overdose

Heavy overdose will demand treatment in a hospital. As xylomethazolinum a hydrochloride is quickly soaked up, it is necessary to accept immediately activated carbon (absorbent), sodium sulfate (laxative) or to resort to gastric lavage (at application of higher doses). The lowering of arterial pressure can be reached by means of non-selective alpha blockers. Vasoconstrictive medicines are contraindicated. If necessary use febrifugal and anticonvulsant medicaments and also artificial oxygen respiration.

Side effects

General violations and reactions in the injection site:

it is frequent: burning sensation in the site of application.

to burning or dryness of a mucous membrane and raised swelled a mucous membrane which worsen at further use of medicine (rhinitis medicamentous). This effect can be observed in 7 days of treatment, and when treatment continues, it can lead to long-term injury of a mucous membrane with formation of crusts (dry rhinitis).

Interaction

MAO Inhibitors (MAO inhibitors): xylomethazolinum can strengthen effect of MAO inhibitors and induce hypertensive crisis. Not to apply xylomethazolinum to patients who accept or accepted MAO inhibitors within the last two weeks.

Storage conditions

Expiration date - 3 years. An expiration date after packing opening no more than 180 days.
