Structure

• active ingredients: 1 g of ointment contains menthol of racemic 25 mg, novocaine (hydrochloride Procainum) of 10 mg, anaesthesin (benzocaine) of 10 mg;
• additional substances: mineral oil, paraffin white soft, T-2 emulsifier, water purified.

Ointment of white color with a menthol smell.

Pharmacological properties

Pharmacodynamics. Menovazan represents the combined medicine containing menthol, Procainum and benzocaine in the structure. Thanks to selective impact of menthol on cold receptors, ointment causes cryesthesia, and its irritant action can be replaced by insignificant anesthetizing.

a tone both superficial vessels, and located more deeply.

Procainum has rather expressed anesthetic effect. It does not influence a tone of vessels.

Benzocaine causes surface anesthesia.

Combination of the above-stated components in one medicament causes reversible violation of excitability of nervous receptors and conductivity of nerve fibrils in case of direct contact with them, has the irritating and distracting effect, to suppress excitability of membranes of nerve fibril, to reduce action potential amplitude, to raise a threshold of depolarization of a membrane of nerve fibril, to reduce the speed of development of a rising phase of action potential, to reduce extent of excitement in nervous elements.

Indication

Neuralgia, myalgia, arthralgia; dermatosis which is followed by an itch.

Use

Outwardly 2–3 r / days for grinding of the painful or damaged sites of skin. the course of therapy depends on a form and a course of the disease and also on the nature of the accompanying therapy. the maximum daily dose - 9 g

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components.

Side effects

allergic reactions (including hyperaemia, irritation of skin, an itch, rash, hypostasis, urticaria), contact dermatitis.

not to apply

to skin with existence of symptoms of allergic reaction, to face skin, the injured skin.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. Experience of use of medicine during pregnancy and feeding by a breast is absent.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with mechanisms. It is necessary to refrain from control of vehicles or work with mechanisms as dizziness is possible.

Children. Do not apply at children aged 12 years are younger.

Interaction

is not recommended to be applied along with other topical means (enhance effects of medicines with mestnoanesteziruyushchy action). medicine components (Procainum, benzocaine) reduce antibacterial effect of sulfanamide medicines.

At simultaneous use of any other medicines to the doctor.

in case of long-term application the dizziness, the general weakness, a lowering of arterial pressure, allergic reactions are possible

At emergence of the specified symptoms medicine should be cancelled, to wash away the remains from the surface of skin water and to see a doctor. Symptomatic therapy.
