Description
Marjoram is a worldwide popular spice, which gives herbs a special bright aroma. They were valued by cooks of all times and peoples and were sold as a vegetable additive to meat, fish soups and other herbs, salads, sauces and herbs from vegetables.
The range of marjoram distillation is very wide, and is actively used by cheese makers, cow-brewers, winemakers, brewers and perfumers. Marjoram for richness and oatmeal spice when canning tomatoes, cucumbers and other vegetables.
Dried marjoram can be added to jelly, compote and kvass. Gentlemen really appreciate its light baking taste and persistent spicy aroma.
Marjoram is often combined with oregano and thyme, and herbs can be used to subtly complement marjoram, without substituting one for the other.
Particularly popular are marjoram, in which marjoram is known to be combined with thyme; in Caucasian cuisine, marjoram is an ingredient in such a popular seasoning as “hops-suneli”.
Thanks to the fact that marjoram is easy to pickle, it is often eaten with fatty herbs that are important for pickling, such as greased pork, pumpkin, gander, fatty sausages and cowboys. Marjoram goes well with vegetables such as beans and cabbage, which are also important for pickling, and it is used to season greased potatoes.
However, marjoram has such a strong aroma that in many cases it is bad to combine with other spicy herbs, which means that it needs to be simmered very sparingly so as not to ruin the taste of the herb.
Without marjoram, many sauces cannot be prepared, for example, tomato, sour cream, parsley and others. When preparing spaghetti and pizza, oregano can also be replaced with marjoram.
Let's add dried marjoram in small quantities to decorate cold appetizers.
