"I Heard It Through The Grapevine" - the song is written by Norman Whitfield and Barret Strong for Motown Records in 1966. The first record of this song was released by Gladys Knight & the Pips on a single in September. 1967; she ranked second in Billboard chart.
The Miracles for the first time recorded the song on August 16, 1966 and included the version in an album of 1968 "Special Occasion". Versiya Marvin Gey it was placed in his album of 1968 "In the Groove" where it drew attention of radio channels, and the founder of Motown Berri of Gordi at last agreed to its release as a single in October, 1968. Singl was in a pop chart within seven weeks from December, 1968 to January, 1969 and became for some time the most popular single of a label of Motown (Tamla).
Geys record became Since then recognized soul classics, and in 2004 she took 81 places in the "500 best songs of all times" list of Rolling Stone. In anniversary fortieth anniversary of release of Billboard Hot 100 in June, 2008 Marvin Geys "Grapevine" took the sixty fifth position. On it was also entered into the Hall of Fame of the Grammy for "historical, art and considerable" value.
Besides that it was released by some other actors of Motown, and not only, including Creedence Clearwater Revival which made eleven-minute interpretation for the album of 1970 "Cosmos Factory". Plastinks
