"Whitesnake" (in Europe it is released under name 1987) is the seventh album of group. The most commercially successful album of group which became 8 times platinum, reached up to 2 places place Billboard 200 and 8 in the English chart of albums.
B called 1984 David Koverdeyl the head of Geffen David Geffen and suggested the actor to be reoriented on the American market. Koverdale had nothing to lose, the group it already actually broke up, marriage fell, and the singer moved to the USA where Geffen suggested Koverdale to work with the guitarist John Sykes.
Vesna Koverdale and Sykes by means of the bass player Neil Murray began 1985 work on an album in the town in the south of France. Two songs were as a result written: "Still of the Night" which was based on Koverdale and Richie Blackmores old demo, and "Is This Love" which was composed by Koverdale earlier for Tina Turner.
Having returned to Los Angeles, the group after listening of 60 drummers, found, at last, suitable — Ainsley Danbar then the group moved to Vancouver became him and started recording of the album. However the viral infection for half a year unsettled Koverdale and when he returned, he found out that it has no group and together with it and the producer Mike Stone again. However, almost all parties were already written down, the vocal and keyboard was imposed on them and also the new version of a hit of group of 1982 of "Here I Go Again" by means of the guitarist Adrian Vandenberg was written down.
Left album became the most successful in the history of Whitesnake, combining commercially successful melody and quite rigid rhythmic basis. The album took the 28th position in the rating of "100 best rock albums of all times" according to the Classic Rock magazine. Sostoyaniyes
