Levomekol – the medicine promoting healing (scarring) of wounds. It is applied to treatment of the purulent wounds (infected with the mixed microbic flora) of the first phase of wound process, trophic ulcers, the prolezhny, infected burns, furuncles, an anthrax.
Structure
- active ingredients: chloramphenicol (levomycetinum), methyluracil; 7.5 mg, methyluracil of 40 mg contain
- 1 g of ointment chloramphenicol (levomycetinum);
- other components: polyethyleneglycol 400, polyethyleneglycol 1500.
Contraindication
Hypersensitivity to medicine components; psoriasis, eczema, fungal infections of skin.
Side reactions
Are possibleallergic reactions, including skin rash, dermatitis, burning sensation, an itch, local hypostasis, hyperaemia, a Quincke's disease, a small tortoiseshell; the general weakness is possible. In such cases use of ointment it is necessary to stop and see a doctor.

for external use by the adult and to children of 3 years. Mazyu impregnate sterile gauze napkins with which it is necessary to fill a wound. Introduction of ointment to purulent cavities through a catheter (drainage tube) by means of the syringe is possible. In such cases levomekol previously warm up up to 35-36 °C. Ointment should be applied from first day of damage within 4 days. The long time as it is capable to cause osmotic shock in the intact cages is not recommended to apply Giperosmolyarny Levomekol ointment. For 5-7 days of treatment it is recommended to replace ointment with the medicines restoring integrity of the damaged fabric.
