Pharmacological properties

Has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect; medicine is active concerning gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms (staphylococcus, pyocyanic and intestinal sticks).

Indication

Purulent wounds infected with the mixed microbic flora, including staphylococcus, pyocyanic and intestinal sticks (for the purpose of clarification of wounds from it is purulent - the necrotic mass and reduction of hypostasis).

Use

Locally. impregnate with ointment sterile gauze napkins with which rykhlo fill a wound. introduction of ointment to purulent cavities through a catheter (drainage tube) by means of the syringe is possible. in these cases levomekol ointment is previously warmed up to 35–36 °C. bandagings make before full clarification of a wound from is purulent - necrotic masses.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol.

development of allergic reactions Is possible

(rash on skin). in these cases the use of ointment should be stopped.
