• Acute bacterial sinusitis.

Structure

• active ingredient: levofloxacin;
• 1 tablet contains levofloxacin of 250 mg in the form of a levofloksatsin of the gemigidrat;
• other components: corn starch, sodium of a kroskarmeloz, cellulose microcrystalline, the purified talc, silicon dioxide colloidal waterless, sodium stearate, Opadry Yellow krakhmalglikolit (type A), magnesium.

Contraindication

• hypersensitivity to a levofloksatsin, other ftorkhinolona or to any ingredient of medicine;
• epilepsy;
• injury of sinews connected with application of ftorkhinolon;
• children's age;
• period of pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Route of administration

to take the Drug 1 or 2 times a day. The dose depends on type and weight of an infection. Duration of treatment depends on the course of the disease. It is recommended to continue medicament treatment at least within 48-72 hours after normalization of body temperature or the destruction of activators confirmed with microbiological tests.

Tablet LEVOAAR can be applied to end of a course of therapy to the patients who showed improvement during primary treatment levofloksatsiny in the form of solution for infusions, using at the same time the same dosages.

Tablet LEVOAAR should be swallowed entirely, without chewing, washing down with enough liquid. For correction of a dose of a tablet it is possible to divide after risk. A pill can be taken in time or between meals. Pill LEVOAAR should be taken at least in 2 hours prior to or after reception of the antacids supporting iron, zinc salts, magnesium or aluminum or a didanozin (it concerns only dosage forms of a didanozin with the aluminum or magnesium containing buffer agents) or the sukralfat as the specified medicines can reduce absorption of a levofloksatsin.

Feature of application

Should avoid use of medicine to patients who had serious reactions in the past at application of hinolon or ftorkhinolon. Treatment of these patients levofloksatsiny should be begun only in the absence of alternative options of treatment and after careful assessment of advantage/risk.

Use during pregnancy or feeding a breast

However due to the lack of researches of impact on a human body and on the basis of the experimental data indicating risk of damage of a ftorkhinolonama of an articulate cartilage of the growing organism, levofloxacin it is impossible to appoint pregnant.

Levofloxacin is contraindicated to the women nursing.

Children

Levofloxacin is contraindicated to children (up to 18 years) as injury of an articulate cartilage is not excluded.

Some side reactions (for example dizziness / vertigo, drowsiness, a disorder of vision) the ability of the patient to concentration of attention and speed of its reaction can break

Overdose

Symptoms: confusion of consciousness, dizziness, violation of consciousness and convulsive attacks, hallucinations, tremor, nausea, erosion mucous, lengthening of a QT interval.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy. Considering possible lengthening of an interval of QT, it is necessary to carry out monitoring of indicators of the ECG. At obvious overdose to appoint gastric lavage. For protection mucous a stomach it is possible to use antiacid means. A hemodialysis, including peritoneal dialysis and chronic out-patient peritoneal dialysis, are inefficient for removal of a levofloksatsin from an organism. There is no specific antidote.
