Ksilazol – antiedematous and rhinologic medicine for topical administration.
Indications
- congestion of a nose during sharp rhinitis;
- assistance to healing of skin around the nasal courses and damages mucous in a nasal cavity;
- vasomotorial rhinitis;
- violation of nasal breath after surgical interventions in a nasal cavity.
Structure
contains- 1 ml of solution a hydrochloride of xylomethazolinum of 1 mg and a dekspantenol of 50 mg;
- other components: sodium hydrophosphate, heptahydrate; sodium dihydrophosphate, monohydrate; benzalkoniya chloride; water is purified.
Contraindication
- hypersensitivity to active ingredient and/or to any of medicine excipients;
- dry inflammation mucous nose;
- sharp coronary diseases, including cardiac asthma;
- hyperthyroidism;
- closed-angle glaucoma;
- transfenoidalny hypophysectomy and surgical interventions with exposure of a meninx in the anamnesis;
- simultaneous application with MAO inhibitors and within 2 weeks after the termination of their application;
- infantile age up to 6 years.
Route of administration
Adults and children of 6 years
Spray nasal should be sprayed on 1 time in each nasal course no more than 3 times a day. The dosage depends on individual sensitivity and clinical reaction.

Feature of application
Medicine should be applied with care to patients with cardiovascular diseases, arterial hypertension, sick diabetes, with diseases of a thyroid gland, at a prostate hyperplasia.
Patients with a syndrome of the extended QT interval receiving xylomethazolinum can have the increased risk of serious ventricular arrhythmias.
Pregnant
Medicine should not be applied during pregnancy as there are no exhaustive data on use of xylomethazolinum for treatment of pregnant women.
Children
Medicine should not be applied to children up to 6 years. Children from 2 to 6 years should apply Ksilazol-kids.
Drivers
At use of medicine according to the instruction, no influence on ability to steer motor transport or other mechanisms is expected.
Overdose
Overdose, especially at children, can lead to considerable influence on central nervous system, including spasms, a lump, bradycardia, an apnoea and arterial hypertension that can change on arterial hypotension.

Side effects
from nervous system: uneasiness, insomnia, fatigue (drowsiness, sedative action), headaches, hallucinations (mainly at children).

from the respiratory system, bodies of a thorax and mediastinum: after weakening of action increase in puffiness mucous, nasal bleeding, burning and dryness mucous a nose, sneezing.
from a skeletal and muscular system and connective tissue: spasms (especially at children).
