An ibuprofen of the Baby – nonsteroid anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drug, for symptomatic treatment of fever and pain of various origin at children from 3 months to 12 years with body weight not less than 5 kg (including a fever after immunization, acute respiratory viral infections, flu, pain at a teething, pain after odontectomy, a toothache, head pains, a sore throat, pains at sprain and other types of pain, including inflammatory genesis).

Structure

• active ingredient: ibuprofen;
• 5 ml of medicine contain an ibuprofen of 100 mg;
• other components: sorbite (E 420); polysorbate 80; sodium hydrophosphate waterless; citric acid, monohydrate; xanthane gum; glycerin; sodium saccharin; methylparaben (E 218); propylparaben (E 216); the Red Orange fragrance containing ethanol of 96%, triacetin, oil orange radio, natural extract of orange, natural aromatic compounds (aldehydes and ethers), butylhydroxyanisole (E 320); water is purified.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to an ibuprofen or to any of medicine excipients.

Hypersensitivity reaction in the anamnesis (for example, a bronchospasm, bronchial asthma, rhinitis, a Quincke's disease or a small tortoiseshell) after intake of acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or other NPVS.

Peptic ulcer stomach/bleeding in an active form or a recurrence in the anamnesis (two or more expressed episodes of the confirmed peptic ulcer or bleeding).

Route of administration

For oral administration.

Recommended daily dose makes 20–30 mg/kg of body weight, divided at the level of a dose, depending on age and body weight, with an interval between receptions of 6-8 hours.

• 3-6 months (5-7.6 kg) – 2.5 ml of suspension (50 mg) of no more than 3 times;
• 6-12 months (7.7-9 kg) – 2.5 ml of suspension (50 mg) of no more than 3-4 times;
• 1-3 years (10-16 kg) – 5 ml of suspension (100 mg) of no more than 3 times;
• 4-6 years (17-20 kg) – 7.5 ml of suspension (150 mg) of no more than 3 times;
• 7-9 years (21-30 kg) – 10 ml of suspension (200 mg) of no more than 3 times;
• 10-12 years (31-40 kg) – 15 ml of suspension (300 mg) of no more than 3 times.

Feature of application

Side effects connected with an ibuprofen can be minimized by application of the lowest effective dose necessary for treatment of symptoms during the shortest span.

Pregnant women

use Drug to children up to 12 years.

Children

to use Drug to children from 3 months to 12 years with body weight not less than 5 kg.

Drivers

use Drug to children up to 12 years. At application according to the recommended doses and during the corresponding period the influence of medicine on ability to steer motor transport or to work with other mechanisms is not expected.

Overdose

Symptoms.

use of clinically significant quantity of NPVS made most of patients only sick, vomiting, pain in epigastric area, is more rare – diarrhea. Also there can be a sonitus, headaches and gastrointestinal bleeding. In more serious poisoning toxic damages of the central nervous system in a look vertigo, dizzinesses, drowsiness, sometimes – the excited state and a disorientation or a coma are possible. Sometimes at patients spasms develop.

Side effects

Infection and invasion: aggravation of the inflammation connected with an infection (for example, development of a necrotizing fasciitis; in exceptional cases chicken pox can cause heavy infectious complications from skin and soft tissues).

from blood and lymphatic system: blood formation violation (anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, pancytopenia, Agranulocytosis). The first signs are fever, a sore throat, superficial ulcers in oral cavities, grippopodobny symptoms, a severe form of exhaustion, nasal and skin bleeding, hematomas.

from the immune system: urticaria and an itch, heavy reactions of hypersensitivity, symptoms which can include edema of face, language and a throat, short wind, tachycardia, arterial hypotension (anaphylactic reaction, a Quincke's disease or heavy shock); exacerbation of asthma.
