Released in November 1968, George Harrisons Wonderwall Music was the first solo album released by a member of The Beatles and the first LP to be released by Apple Records. The soundtrack music for director Joe Massots debut feature-length film, Wonderwall, predominantly instrumental album is an intricate, vibrant tapestry of Western rock music and compositions in an Indian classical style. Harrison recorded the album between November 1967 and February 1968, with sessions taking place in London and Bombay. One of his collaborators on the project was classical pianist and orchestral arranger John Barham, while other contributors include Indian classical musicians. The Western music features contributions from Tony Ashton and the latters band, The Remo Four, as well as guest appearances by Eric Clapton and Ringo Starr.
