Hofitol of the tab. of p/o of 200 mg No. 180

Hofitol has bile-expelling, hepatoprotective and diuretic effect, also reduces urea content in blood. Inulin and other components which the artichoke contains improve exchange processes in an organism.

Structure

active ingredient: dry water extract of leaves of an artichoke of field (Cynara scolymus)

• 1 tablet, coated, contains dry water extract of leaves of an artichoke of field (Cynara scolymus) 200 mg
• Excipients: magnesium trisilicate, starch corn corn, talc, magnesium stearate cover: shellac, rosin, talc, gelatin, sucrose, calcium carbonate, wax of karnaubskiya, polysorbate 80, dye disperse (sucrose, ferrous oxide yellow (E172), ferrous oxide black (E172), ferrous oxide brown (E 172), methylparahydroxybenzoate (E 218), etilparagidroksibenzoat (E 214)).

Effect of the medicament Hofitol is cumulative action of its components therefore carrying out kinetic observations is not possible; everything together components cannot be tracked by means of markers or bioresearches. For the same reason it is impossible to find also metabolites of drug.

Indications

Hofitol is appointed as medicament for improvement of bile-expelling and diuretic function in diseases of a liver, biliary tract and kidneys, such as cirrhosis, chronic not calculous cholecystitis, dyskinesia of bilious ways on hypokinetic type, chronic nephrite, chronic kidney disease.

Route of administration

Inside to adults and children is more senior than 6 years. Accept before food.

to Children at the age of 6 - 12 years - on 1 tablet 3 times a day.

Course of treatment is defined by the doctor individually depending on character and a course of the disease. Usually the course of treatment makes 2 - 3 weeks. Carrying out repeated courses of treatment perhaps after coordination with the doctor.

Overdose

At overdose strengthening of symptoms of side effects.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicament components, in particular to methylparaben or propilparagidroksibenzoat, to plants of the Astraceae family (thistle family) hepatitis, impassability of bilious ways, a cholangitis, suppuration (empyema) of a gall bladder, cholelithiasis or other diseases of bilious ways, acute diseases of a liver, a heavy liver failure impassability of urinary tract, acute diseases of kidneys.

Special instructions

Pregnancy

during pregnancy and feeding by a breast use medicament only on doctor's orders if the expected advantage for mother exceeds potential risk for a fruit or the child.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms

Can affect ability to run motor transport and other mechanisms as medicament contains ethanol.

Children

to children 6 years on doctor's orders are more senior.

Side effects

in case of prolonged use of medicament in high doses perhaps diarrhea and also spasms in a stomach, indigestions, nausea, heartburn.

Interaction with other medicines:

Combination which need to be taken into account (considering presence of ethanol (0.20 g in a teaspoon) in drug):

• means which can cause Antabusum reaction (feeling of warming, reddening, nausea, tachycardia) at use with ethanol;
• means which suppress function of the central nervous system.

Storage conditions

Temperature is not above 25 °C.
