Pharmacological properties

Hederal® an ivy — medicine of plant origin, contains the glikozidny saponins causing expectorant, spasmolytic, broncholitic, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial actions. the main components of dry extract of an ivy are saponins of a triterpen, mainly gederakozid with and alpha gederin.

Alpha gederin endocytosis β ₂ - adrenergic receptors oppresses that increases activity β ₂ - adrenergic cages in a mucous membrane of bronchial tubes and an epithelium of lungs. It leads to reduction of intracellular levels of calcium in a mucous membrane of bronchial tubes that causes relaxation of bronchial tubes. Thanks to stimulation β ₂ - adrenergic receptors alveolar epithelial cells like ІІ form more surfactant. Thus, Hederal ^® Ivy reduces viscosity of a phlegm, facilitates expectoration and cough.

Indication

Acute inflammatory respiratory diseases which are followed by cough; symptomatic treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases of bronchial tubes.

Use

Syrup хедерал® an ivy should be applied in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening. the medicament should be taken irrespective of meal.

Adults and children from 10 years	on 5-7.5 ml 3 times a day
Children from 6 to 10 years	on 5 ml 3 times a day
Children from 2 to 6 years	on 2.5 ml 3 times a day

carry out the Dosage by means of a measured glass which is applied.

Duration of treatment is defined by the doctor individually. In mild cases duration of treatment is 1 week. For achievement of lasting therapeutic effect recommend to continue therapy of 2-3 more days after improvement of a condition of the patient.
