Furacilin – antiseptic and disinfectant. Apply as a part of complex therapy in inflammatory diseases of a mouth and throat, sinusitis, purulent wounds, decubituses, skin cankers, burns of II and III degrees, osteomyelitis, a pleura empyema, chronic purulent otitis, mephitic gangrenes.

Structure

Route of administration

Furacilin to apply outwardly, in the form of water 0.02% (1:5000) solutions. To prepare solution just before use. For preparation of aqueous solution to dissolve contents of a sachet in 200 ml of isotonic solution of sodium of chloride or the water distilled or boiled. For fast dissolution it is recommended to use the boiling or hot water. After that to cool solution to room temperature.

In inflammatory diseases of a mouth and throat in 200 ml of the boiling or hot water. To apply warm solution to rinsing of a mouth and throat. To repeat rinsing according to the recommendations of the doctor. The course of treatment depends on a form and severity of the disease, the nature of the accompanying therapy reached effect of treatment and is defined by the doctor individually.

In sinusitis to wash with aqueous solution of medicament a nasal cavity.

In purulent wounds, decubituses, skin cankers, burns of II and III steps for preparation of the granulating surface for skin transplantation and for resuture to irrigate a wound with aqueous solution of medicine Furacilin then to apply water dressing with medicament solution.

After operation for osteomyelitis to wash postoperative cavities with aqueous solution of medicament then to apply water dressing with aqueous solution of drug.

At a pleura empyema after removal of pus by the standard method. Then to enter 20–100 ml of aqueous solution into a pleural cavity.

In a mephitic gangrene after standard surgical intervention with aqueous solution of drug.

In chronic purulent otitises of 8-10 drops of aqueous solution of medicine on a cotton plug or a turunda and to enter into external acoustical pass 2 times a day. Previously solution should be warmed up to body temperature.

Furacilin is incompatible

with novocaine, Dicainum, adrenaline and other reducers as it decays with formation of the painted products. It is incompatible with potassium permanganate, peroxide of hydrogen and other strong oxidizers because of oxidation.
