Deksafort — the hormonal medicine containing in 1 ml as active ingredients 2.67 mg of dexamethasone of the fenilpropionat and 1.32 mg of dexamethasone of sodium of phosphate and also auxiliary components: 4.0 mg of sodium of chloride, 11.4 mg of sodium of citrate, 10.4 mg of benzylic alcohol, 0.4 mg of MH 50 methyl cellulose and water for injections up to 1 ml. Pharmacological properties

Dexamethasone which is a part of medicine is a synthetic analog of cortisol — glucocorticosteroid hormone of bark of adrenal glands. Possesses more expressed glucocorticosteroid action, renders the anti-inflammatory, antiedematous, desensibilizing and antiallergic action. The mechanism of effect of hormone consists in release oppression by eosinophils and corpulent cages of mediators of inflammation. Dexamethasone affects all stages of inflammatory process: inhibits synthesis of prostaglandins at the level of arachidonic acid, synthesis of "pro-inflammatory cytokines" (interleukin 1, a tumor necrosis factor an alpha, etc.) and also increases resistance of a cellular membrane to action of various damaging factors.

Appointed to cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats, dogs and cats for treatment of the inflammatory processes and diseases having an allergic and autoimmune etiology (allergic dermatitis, eczema, post-traumatic hypostases, bronchial asthma, diseases of joints, sharp mastitis).

Dose and a method of application

Deksafort are entered to cattle, horses, pigs, sheep and goats intramuscularly, to dogs and cats intramuscularly or hypodermically once in the following doses: to cattle and horses — 10 ml, to calfs, foals, sheep, goats and pigs — 1 – 3 ml, dogs — 0.5 - 1 ml, to cats — 0.25 - 0.5 ml. If necessary medicine is applied repeatedly in 7 days. Before each use the bottle with deksaforty is carefully stirred up before receiving a uniform suspension. At treatment of the inflammations complicated by pathogenic and conditionally pathogenic bacterial microflora deksafort appoint only in combination with antibacterial medicines of a broad spectrum of activity.

Milk from cows within 5 days after the last introduction of medicine is forbidden to be eaten to people, such milk can be used in a forage by an animal after heat treatment.
