Pharmacological properties

Chloropyraminum (n hydrochloride — dimethylaminoethyl, - n-(para-chlorbenzylium) - aminopyridine) - antihistaminic medicament of group of the substituted ethylene diamines. Has also anti-inflammatory effect, reduces permeability of capillaries, has peripheral cholinolytic, sedative and somnolent effects.

Indication

Allergic dermatosis (urticaria, eczema, skin itching, dermatitis), allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, hay fever, Quincke's edema, medicinal allergy, initial stages oh.

Use

In hard and sharp cases of allergic reactions Chloropyraminum is entered in oil or in/in on 1–2 ml of 2% of solution.

Daily dosage for adults usually makes 1-2 ml.

Daily dose for children should not exceed 2 mg/kg of body weight.

Contraindication

Glaucoma, prostatauxe, round ulcer of a stomach, pregnancy or feeding by a breast.

Side effects

Drowsiness, general weakness, digestive disturbances.

Special instructions

At an acute anaphylaxis and also in cases of other acute and heavy allergic reactions recommend to begin therapy with in/in administrations of drug, then continue treatment by administration of Chloropyraminum in oil.

In an initiation of treatment the patients taking the medicament have to abstain from performance of the work requiring special attention and fast reaction. Further these restrictions depend on individual reaction to the carried-out treatment.

Interaction

Chloropyraminum at a combination to tricyclic antidepressants enhances parasympathomimetic effects.

Overdose

At children is shown by excitement, concern, hallucinations, an ataxy, an athetosis, spasms, a mydriasis and immovability of pupils, a dermahemia of the person, a hyperthermia, then — vascular collapse, a coma; at adults — block, a depression, coma, then psychomotor excitement, spasms, it is rare — a hyperthermia and hyperaemia of integuments. treatment is symptomatic.
