Cysteine is replaceable acid, anticataractous means. Normalizes a metabolism in a lens. Cysteine can be synthesized in an organism with methionine use. In the absence of methionine or at violation of transformation of methionine into cysteine the lack of this acid can lead to disturbance of exchange processes in an organism, in particular a metabolism in a lens. And the changes happening at a cataract are connected with violation of concentration of this amino acid in a crystalline lens.
