In water heaters of the series of OGB SMART most important innovation of the reasonable regulator is a new operation mode of SMART ("clever"). For the automatically determined periods the water heater will define the optimum operation mode based on record of habits of the user in use of hot water, providing the minimum electricity consumption. In the SMART mode the heater uses the written data to heat necessary amount of hot water then when it is necessary. Such operation of the heater allows to save essential amount of energy, the heater does not maintain constantly high temperature of water as it occurs in the normal mode.

In water heaters of the series of OGB SMART implemented modern technical solutions for heating elements which are inserted into metal protective tubes of the heating flange. The protective tube and the tank have a qualitative enamel covering, and in combination with the magnesium anode provide excellent anticorrosive protection, reduce scaling and simplify service.

In the OGB SMART water heater in the heater a number of additional functions:
- "Holiday" — shutdowns of the water heater on a certain number of days (absence period). During the absence period the water heater works in the mode of protection against freezing — water temperature is maintained at the level of 10 °C. After the end of the period of absence the water heater resumes work in previously set mode.
- "Programming of the periods of work" — allows to install up to three different operation modes during the day. Especially favourably in case of action of a double system of electricity rates — the water heater works when lower rate works.
- Antilegionella - in water heaters is installed the special sensor which monitors water temperature in the boiler during operation. In case of need it provides heating of water in the boiler up to the temperature of 65 °C and holds it during the time necessary for prevention of formation of pathogenic bacteria.
