"John Wesley Harding" is the eighth studio album of the American amateur performer Bob Dylan. Alby it is released by Columbia Records label in December, 1967.
Producer of an album became Bob Johnston. Alby it is marked by Dylans return to acoustic sounding and folk music characteristic of its first albums.
"John Wesley Harding" was exclusively well accepted by critics and well was on sale, having reached the 2nd position in the American charts and having headed the British. It is remarkable that Dylan did not allow a label to be engaged in active promotion of an album. Less than three months after release the album received the gold status. Though Dylan refused to release any song from an album as a single, the All Along the Watchtower song became one of its most popular songs after Jimi Hendrix made its cover version.
In the 2003rd year an album took the 301st position in the list of 500 greatest albums of all times according to the Rolling Stone magazine. Plastinks
