Overdose
Symptoms. At overdose (for example, a daily dose of 15 mg instead of 7.5 mg) cases of development of atrioventricular block of the III degree, bradycardia and dizziness were recorded. Frequent signs of overdose by β-blockers is bradycardia, arterial hypotension, an acute heart failure, a hypoglycemia and a bronchospasm. Now several cases of overdose at patients with arterial hypertension and/or coronary heart disease are known (the maximum dose - 2000 mg of a bisoprolol). Bradycardia and/or arterial hypotension were noted. All patients recovered. There is a broad variability of individual sensitivity to single a high dose of a bisoprolol, patients with heart failure can be more sensitive to drug. Therefore treatment should be begun with gradual increase in a dosage.
Treatment. At overdose stop medicament treatment and carry out the supporting and symptomatic therapy. There are limited data, bisoprolol difficult gives in to dialysis. At suspicion on overdose according to expected pharmacological action and based on recommendations for other β-blockers it is necessary to consider the following general actions.
Side effects
General disorders. Often an asthenia (at patients with chronic heart failure), fatigue *.
Infrequently an asthenia (at patients with arterial hypertension or coronary heart disease).
* Concerns only patients with arterial hypertension or coronary heart disease. These symptoms usually arise at the beginning of therapy, are mild and disappear within the first 1-2 weeks.
Interaction
Combination which are not recommended to be applied. Treatment of chronic heart failure. Antiarrhytmic means of the I class (for example, quinidine, Disopyramidum, lidocaine, Phenytoinum, flekainid, propafenon): potentiation of effect on AV conductivity and strengthenings of negative inotropic effect is possible.
