Pharmacological properties

Bifonazol (1α-(-biphenyl-4-ulbezil) an imidazole) — antifungal broad-spectrum agent. depending on a dose has fungistatic or fungicide property. the mechanism of effect of medicament is caused by disturbance of synthesis of the ergosterol which is a part of a cellular membrane of mushrooms. it is active concerning dermatophytes, barmy (including the sorts candida), mold (malassezia furfur) and other mushrooms, gram-positive cocci. also corynebacterium minutissimum, piturosporum orbiculare are sensitive to drug. after topical administration of a bifonazol only 0.6-0.8% of active agent are absorbed from the surface of healthy skin and 2–4% — in inflammations of the skin.

Elimination half-life makes 19–32 h. In 6 h the concentration of a bifonazol in upper and papillary layers of epidermis corresponds or many times over exceeds MPK for the main causative agents of dermatomycoses.

Indication

Dermatomycoses caused by dermatophytes, barmy, mold and other mushrooms including mycoses of feet, brushes, smooth skin and folds of skin; multi-colored deprive, superficial candidiases; erythrasma.

Use

Gel is applied 1 time a day in the evening before going to bed with a thin layer on an affected area of skin and rubbed. the single dose is established taking into account the defeat center sizes — for processing of the area of the size of a palm use a column of gel about 5 mm long.

treatment Duration in mycoses of feet and damage of skin in interdigital intervals of legs — 3 weeks; in mycoses of brushes, folds of skin and smooth skin — 2–3 weeks; in multi-colored herpes and an erythrasma — 2 weeks; in superficial candidiases — 2–4 weeks

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicament components.

Side effects

allergic and local reactions (slight hyperaemia, irritation of skin, in some cases — burning and pricking).

Use of medicament in i a trimester of pregnancy is possible

only according to strict indications. treatment of children of chest age medicament can be carried out only under observation of the doctor.
