The Rose is the first soundtrack album Bette Midler where songs from the movie "Rose" entered. The actress herself wrote down all voice parts for the movie. A live concert from which the album is grouped was written down on June 23, 1978 in Uiltern theater. The album could reach the 12th line in an album chart of Billboard 200.
