Benfotiamin is a derivative of thiamine (vitamin B - 1) with the increased bioavailability. Unlike usual thiamine, benfotiamin it is soluble in fats and has bigger physiological activity. It supports normal processing of glucose by stimulation transketomanholes, the enzyme necessary for maintenance of normal ways of metabolism of glucose. Normal levels of glucose are also important for ensuring health of endothelial cages in kidneys and an internal cover of an eyeball.
