Eighteenth studio album of the American singer Aretha Franklin released on January 24, 1972 on Atlantic Records. Alby has the gold certificate. Received the name from the song by Nina Simone "To Be Young, Gifted and Black" which was written down and released by Simone in 1969.
Franklin got the Grammy award in 1972 for the best womens vocal execution in R&B style.
B 2003 VH1 TV channel called it the 76th greatest album of all times. In 2020 he took the 388th place according to the Rolling Stone magazine in their list "500 greatest albums of all times". Plastinks
