Zoetis Apoquel - Apokvel non-hormonal medicine for dogs, is used at dermatitis of various etiology which is followed by an itch. The American company "Zoetis Inc" created the medicine Apokvel which deservedly takes the leading positions among medicines for elimination of an itch at dogs regardless of its etiology. The innovative formula of medicine allows to eliminate in the shortest terms the naggers at dermatitis, allergies. Apokvel is a non-hormonal medicine which main operating component is oklatsitinib, oppressing functions of cytokines, defiant naggers and inflammation of an integument. Instruction:
On use of the medicine Apokvel at the dermatitis of various etiology which is followed by an itch at dogs (the developer organization; "Zoetis Inc", 100 Campus Drive, Florham Park, New Jersey, 07932 USA).

General information:

Trade name of medicine: Apokvel (Apoquel).
International non-proprietary name: oklatsitinib.
Dosage form: tablets for oral application.
Apokvel are released in three dosages containing in 1 tablet as active ingredient of an oklatsitinib a maleate (in terms of oklatsitinib) by 3.6 mg; 5.4 mg and 16 mg respectively and also excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, lactoses monohydrate, carboxymethylstarch of sodium, magnesium stearate, Opadry II White filming agent and the water purified.
On appearance Apokvel represents the oval tablets of white or almost white color covered with a film cover with a dividing groove in the middle and with an inscription on both parties of a tablet: "AQ" and "8" (for a dosage of 3.6 mg), "M" (for a dosage of 5.4 mg) or "L" (for a dosage of 16 mg).
medicine Expiration date at observance of storage conditions - 2 years from the date of production. Unused halves store no more than 3 days, having placed in a bottle. Apokvel after expiry date is forbidden to apply.
Apokvel is released packaged on 20 or 100 tablets in bottles from dense polyethylene of white color with the screwing-up polypropylene cover inaccessible for opening by children.

Pharmacological properties:

Apokvel treats medicines of group of selective inhibitors of a yanus-kinase (JAK).

Because oklatsitinib it is capable to have immunosupressivny effect and to increase susceptibility to infectious and invasive diseases, during use of medicine the control regarding development in a dog of infections (invasions), first of all, of a demodekoz and also neoplastic diseases is necessary.

Precautionary measure: by

At Apokvels overdose at an animal the following symptoms can be observed: depression, vomiting, diarrhea, local alopetion, thickening of a skin fold, formation of scabs and crusts, interdigital cysts, hypostasis of extremities.
Specific antidotes are absent, to an animal perform symptomatic treatment.
Feature of action at the first use of medicine.
Apokvel to boughs during pregnancy and a lactation and also to puppies to 12-month age.
Should avoid admissions at introduction of the next dose of medicine as it can lead to decrease in efficiency. In case of the admission of the next dose, Apokvels application is resumed in compliances with the present instruction.
By-effects and complications at short-term application of Apokvel can be shown by depression, disorder of function of digestive tract, cystitis;

At combined use of Apokvel with antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antiparasitic medicines of pharmacological interaction it is not revealed.
