Pharmacological properties

Combined medicine for external use which pharmacological properties are caused by mutual potentiation of therapeutic effect of each of components. an important component — the apitoxin received from live bees and emitted in pure form by lyophilizing. for ensuring constant efficiency of this biological substance apitoxin is standardized and investigated during biochemical and pharmacological tests. the standardized apitoxin contains the active ingredients rendering versatile medical effect. the most important of them are mellitin, a histamine, peptide msd, hyaluronidase, a phospholipase. the second component of ointment — methyl salicylate — belongs to group npvp. well gets through skin, has the anti-inflammatory and anesthetizing effect amplifying thanks to synergy influence of components of apitoxin — peptide msd and an apamina. the third component, allyl isothiocyanate, has local irritative effect, causing a local hyperthermia and hyperaemia which amplify under the influence of apitoxin ingredients — a histamine and mellitin. mellitin also promotes release of the endothelial relaxing factor (edrf). improvement of local blood circulation leads to improvement of supply of fabrics with oxygen and accelerates removal from the center of inflammation of the toxic metabolic products causing a feeling of pain.

Indication

Inflammatory and degenerative dystrophic diseases of joints (arthritis, including at rheumatism, arthrosis); myalgia, pain at traumatic injuries of muscles, sinews, ligaments; neuralgia, neuritis, sciatica, lumbago, sciatica; violations of peripheric circulation; as the warming means in sports medicine.

Use

to Adults and children is aged more senior than 6 years, depending on the size of the painful site, put a strip of ointment 3-5 cm long, evenly distribute it a thin layer and expect emergence of reaction (hyperaemia, caumesthesia, burning) which develops in 0.5-1 min. depending on individual sensitivity. after that slowly and intensively rub ointment in skin. the parts of the body processed by ointment recommend to keep in the warm. usually medicament is used daily by 2–3 times a day before disappearance of symptoms.

Contraindication

Hypersensitivity to medicine components. skin diseases, sharp inflammations of joints, renal failure. children under 6 years.

Side effects

In isolated cases — allergic reactions.

Special instructions

not to allow hit of ointment on a mucous membrane or on open wounds.

Use during pregnancy and feeding by a breast. It is not recommended to apply ointment during pregnancy and feeding by a breast.

Children. Drug is not appointed to children under 6 years because of insufficient experience of application for this category of patients.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of vehicles or work with mechanisms. Does not influence.

Overdose

Symptoms: irritation of skin.

Treatment. Drug withdrawal. Symptomatic therapy.
