Pharmacological properties

Ambroxol (trans-4-[(2-amino-3.5-dibrombenzil) amines] cyclohexanol a hydrochloride) shows the expressed mucolytic and sekretomotorny action. stimulates serous cells of glands of a mucous membrane of bronchial tubes thanks to what the broken ratio of serous and mucous components of a phlegm changes. the hydrolyzing enzymes are at the same time activated and release of lysosomes from Clark's cells amplifies at the expense of what the viscosity of a phlegm decreases. Ambroxol strengthens the movement of eyelashes of a ciliary epithelium of bronchial tubes, increasing mukotsiliarny clearance. medicine also stimulates formation of surfactant.

After administration of medicament from a digestive tract. Ambroxol is exposed to effect of primary passing through a liver, the bioavailability is 70–80%. The maximum concentration in blood serum is reached in 2 h after intake. Linking with proteins of blood plasma makes about 84%. Ambroxol gets through GEB and a placental barrier, is emitted with breast milk. It is metabolized with formation pharmacological of inactive metabolites which are removed with urine (about 90%). Elimination half-life — 7–12 h

Indication

Acute and chronic respiratory diseases which are followed by discharge of a viscous phlegm — bronchitis, oh, a bronchoectatic disease, pneumonia.

Use

Inside after a meal. in the first 2–3 days adult appoint 10 ml (2 teaspoons) 3 times a day, then on 5 ml (1 teaspoon) of syrup 3 times a day. to children aged from 2 up to 6 years — on 2.5 ml (1/2 teaspoons) 3 times a day; 6 years are more senior — on 5 ml (1 teaspoon) 2–3 times a day. the course of treatment depending on disease severity makes 4–14 days.

Contraindication

I a pregnancy trimester, the feeding period a breast, age up to 2 years (medicine contains alcohol), a round ulcer of a stomach and duodenum, hypersensitivity to medicine components.

Side effects

Allergic reactions (skin rash, a small tortoiseshell, a Quincke's disease), at long application in high doses — pain in epigastric area, nausea, vomiting.

Special instructions

Drug does not contain some sugar and can be applied by patients with diabetes.

Interaction

is Strengthened by effect of ampicillin and amoxicillin due to increase in their concentration in tissue of lungs. therapeutic the Ambroxol health combination with theophylline is reasonable, its combined use with antibiotics, cardiac glycosides, diuretics is possible.

Overdose
