Ambit – nonsteroid anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drug, for short-term treatment of pain of moderate intensity, including postoperative pain.

Maximum duration of treatment – 5 days.

Structure

• active ingredient: ketorolac trometamol;
• 1 tablet supports a ketorolak of a trometamol of 10 mg;
• other components: microcrystalline cellulose; lactose, monohydrate; magnesium stearate;
• film cover: gipromelloza, titan dioxide (E 171), macrogoal.

Contraindication

• hypersensitivity to a ketorolak or other NPVS or other components of medicine;
• manifestation of hypersensitivity, such as bronchial asthma, rhinitis, Quincke's disease or small tortoiseshell in the anamnesis called by use of acetylsalicylic acid or other NPVS (because of possibility of heavy anaphylactic reactions);
• gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation it is active or in the anamnesis, NPVS connected with reception;
• active recurrent peptic expression / gastrointestinal bleeding (two and more episodes) in a stage of aggravation or in the anamnesis;
not to apply
• as analgeziruyushchy means before and during surgery and after manipulations on coronary vessels in connection with oppression of aggregation of platelets that can cause bleeding;
• suspected or confirmed cerebrovascular bleeding, hemorrhagic diathesis, including violation of fibrillation and high risk of bleeding and also in the postoperative period if there is a high risk of bleeding or an incomplete hemostasis;
• full or partial syndrome of nasal polyps, Quincke's edema or bronchospasm;
• simultaneous treatment by other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicaments (NPVS) (including selection inhibitors of cyclooxygenase), acetylsalicylic acid, warfarin, okspentoksifilliny, probenetsidy or lithium salts, anticoagulants, including low 000;
• violation of a hematopoiesis of an unknown etiology;
• heavy heart failure;
• bronchial asthma in the anamnesis;
• a liver or moderate and heavy renal failure (creatinine level in blood serum more than 160 µmol/l);
• risk of developing of a renal failure owing to reduction of volume of liquid;
• hypovolemia, dehydration;

• during pregnancy, at pains and childbirth and during feeding by a breast;

• to children and teenagers 16 years are younger.

Side reactions

from a digestive tract: a round ulcer, perforation or gastrointestinal bleeding, sometimes with a lethal outcome (especially at elderly people), nausea, dryness in a mouth, dyspepsia, gastrointestinal pain, sensation of discomfort in a stomach, a spasm or burning in epigastric the site, vomiting with blood impurity, gastritis, an esophagitis, diarrhea, an eructation, a lock, a meteorism, feeling of overflow of a stomach, ground, rectal bleeding, stomatitis, a stomacace, vomiting, hemorrhages, perforation, pancreatitis, exacerbation of colitis and diseases.

from blood and lymphatic system: purple, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, Agranulocytosis, aplastic and hemolytic anemia, eosinophilia.

from the immune system (hypersensitivity): reported about development of the hypersensitivity reactions including nonspecific allergic reactions and anaphylactoid reactions, such as anaphylaxis, reactivity of a respiratory path including asthma, deterioration in a course of asthma, a bronchospasm, a laryngeal edema or short wind. from skin, various types including rash, naggers, urticaria, inflows, a purpura, a Quincke's disease, hypotension and in rare instances – exfoliative and bullous dermatitis (including an epidermal necrolysis and a multiformny erythema).

at patients with or without the known hypersensitivity to a ketorolak or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. They can be also observed at persons who the anamnesis had a Quincke's disease, bronkhospastichesky reactivity (for example, asthma and polyps in a nose). Anaphylactic reactions can have a lethal consequence.

Route of administration

it is better for p to take the Pill in time or after a meal.

Side reactions can be minimized, using a low effective dose for the shortest period necessary for control of symptoms.

Usual recommended dosage makes 10 mg each 4 or 6 hours. It is not recommended to enter the quantity exceeding 40 mg/days

Patients needs to transfer to oral administration of medicine as soon as possible.

Feature of application

. About 10% of a ketorolak get through a placenta.

Ketorolak in low quantity gets into breast milk therefore Ambit is contraindicated during feeding by a breast.

Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms

Some patients at application of a ketorolak can feel drowsiness, dizziness, vertigo, insomnia, increased fatigue, a disorder of vision, a headache or a depression. If patients test the stated above or other similar effects, they should not steer motor transport or to work with other mechanisms.

Overdose

Symptoms: a headache, nausea, vomiting, pain in epigastriums, a round ulcer, erosive gastritis, gastrointestinal bleeding; a hyperventilation, hypertensia, it is rare – diarrhea, a disorientation, excitement, a coma, drowsiness, dizziness, a ring in ears, a loss of consciousness, spasms. In cases of a serious poisoning the sharp renal failure and damage of a liver are possible.

Treatment: gastric lavage, use of activated carbon. It is necessary to provide a sufficient diuresis. It is necessary to control functions of kidneys and a liver carefully. On a condition of patients it is necessary to observe at least during 4 h after reception of potentially toxic quantity. Frequent or long spasms it is necessary to treat by administration of diazepam. Other measures can be appointed depending on a clinical condition of the patient. Symptomatic therapy. Specific antidote is absent. Dialysis does not bring ketorolak out of blood circulation.
