for treatment of children 1 years are younger. Ability to influence speed of response at control of motor transport or other mechanisms
Considering existence of such side reaction as dizziness, for use of albendazole it is recommended to abstain from control of motor transport and from work with other mechanisms.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, tachycardia, drowsiness, disorder of vision, visual hallucinations, disturbance of the speech, dizziness, loss of consciousness, increase in a liver, increase in level of transaminases, jaundice; a respiratory distress, a brown-red or orange color of skin, urine, sweat, saliva, tears and excrements it is proportional to the applied medicament dose.
Treatment: to carry out gastric lavage and to perform symptomatic and maintenance therapy.
Interaction with other medicines and other types of interactions
Albendazole induces enzymes of a system of P450 cytochrome.
At simultaneous use with Cimetidinum, prazikvantely and dexamethasone increase in level of metabolites of albendazole in blood plasma is possiblethat is responsible for system activity of medicament that can lead to its overdose.
Medicines which can slightly reduce efficiency of albendazole: anticonvulsant medicaments (for example, Phenytoinum, fosfenitoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital, Primidonum), levamisole, ritonavir.
efficiency of treatment of patients should be controlled, the alternative dose modes or therapy can be required.
Grapefruit juice also increases albendazole sulphoxide level in blood plasma.
Because of possible disturbance of activity of P450 cytochrome the theoretical risk of interaction with the following medicaments exists: oral contraceptives, anticoagulants, oral antihyperglycemic means, theophylline.
At simultaneous use of albendazole with theophylline should control theophylline level in blood.
Concomitant use of medicine and greasy food leadsto increase in absorption of albendazole from a digestive tract.
